Guest guest
Lea or Ilena will probably be able to help you with Canadian surgeons. . . What you need is a commitment from the surgeon to remove the implants " en bloc " . . . that is to remove the capsule with the implant stil inside to avoid spilling the contents into your chest cavity. If your implants are saline, they can drain most of the fluid with a needle first. After surgery, a good surgeon will leave drains in place until there is no significant drainiage. This may be from one to five days. Keep in mind that YOU are employing the surgeon to do what YOU want done. If you need any assistance in convincing the surgeon the capsules need to come out, copy some of Dr. Blais' info to give your doctor. If you don't feel good about the doctor you first visit, keep looking until you feel confident the doctor will do the job right! We'd love to add his/her address to our files! Guest guest
Thanks very much for the reply. I have been researching for awhile and am well versed in the procedure, costs, downtime, etc. I've been doing my homework. What I can't seem to find is a doctor in Canada who cares enough and is skilled enough to ensure that the results will be the best it can be. In reading various posts on this forum, I notice alot of familiar names (Feng, Melmed, Huang) but these doctors are all in the States and although my choice would be to go to one of them, I just can't afford to make the journey. If only I could find one doctor with as much care and concern for their patients here...well, let's just say that my fears would be calmed considerably. Thanks again and I will keep checking to see if any more recommendations come in.
