AAww sweetie you've been having a tough time of it lately!!! Maybe it's the heat? I know it has made me feel very weak, I almost "lost it" the other day, had to go to the DMV in the morning, then to the store, and by the time I got home I couldn't even unload the groceries! My neighbour did it for me, and I unpacked only the necessary then collapsed on the bed until about 4 in the afternoon! I didn't pass out but close...very close...and I know for me it was the heat and the fatigue...

HUGS...

Passing out??

Yesterday, we went to Walmart to get a few things for supper. I used the electric cart because I have been real unsteady on my feet lately and did not want the embarassment of falling in front of strangers. Anyway, we got the stuff we needed and my husband pushed the cart with the baby and the groceries to the van and told me to wait by the store with Charity while he went to get the van.

He pulled up and loaded Charity in and offered me his arm to lean on for leverage. When I stood up my left side gave out and I collapsed onto the ground. He helped me back up and my head started to swim. The next thing I remember is being in the back of an ambulance. I passed right out cold, they could not find a medical explanation.

Has anyone passed out for no reason.

I wonder if it is the MS or if it could possibly be because I cannot eat, much anyway, and it has made me a little weaker and perhaps not a quick on my feet?

(((()))) Bless your heart, sweetie. That would be pretty scary! I don't have anything to offer other than my support. I hope that you are feeling better and you get some answers ASAP. I would think it could very well be from lack of nutrients, due to your swallowing difficulties lately. It would make sense, I guess.

Bev.

How long have you had diabetes? How much insulin do you take? What kind of trouble do you have with your diabetes.

I have been diabetic since 93 and I learned I had it when I went to apply for a new job and had to go for the drug test. When they told me I was diabetic I really did not do anything about it at that time. I was always drinking Coke and figured I had a pop before my test. About a month after I was told I was diabetic I was still ignoring it and one evening I had the worse stomach ache so much I told my wife I had to go to the hospital it was that bad. I never did figure the diabetes was the cause. I didn't even tell them treating me I was told I was diabetic. They had me go to my doctor the next day. My doctor told me my stomach was not the problem my pancreas was hurting me. He wouldn't even let me go home they made me stay there at the hospital. My levels were very high. I stayed in the hospital for 4 day's.

I Take 2 insulin shots a day. I have foot trouble and I am sure the diabetes is probably causing it.

I have a friend in Australia that has both type 1 diabetes and MS as well. She is a brittle diabetic and it seems like she was always in the hospital either for her MS or her diabetes.

I do not know whether this was actually directed to me, but as it followed my post, I will tell how it has been for me. I also have cystic

fibrosis, and therefore developed Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes or

CFRD in childhood. This is essentially type I diabetes and yet is more

like having a third type of the disease. I take Glucophage, and have for

some years. I discovered the problem when I was a kid, but it was not

fully understood, so my mother just neatly removed sugar from our diets!

However, when I was 26, my husband and I, at the end of a budgetary

month, had naively eaten a high carbohydrate meal, and then stupidly

walked nearly four miles to an even at UC Berkeley and then back home, triggering my first BIG (almost passed out) hypoglycemic episode. I had had them in childhood--sleeping only on Saturdays and

Sundays and my mother and I deduced that it was the new high fructose based fake maple syrup. No more syrup, sugar or molasses in

our house. My husband, a university track star in youth, ran all the

way to our house, threw me into the car and drove me to the ER where

I was promptly admitted and rescued. A Glucose test followed and I

first crashed (hypoglycemia) and then rose slightly over 140, and the

diagnosis was officially made. At first I was on dietary control, but as

soon as glucophage came out, I was put on it. I was on Insulin only

after Predisone or Decadron. This is doubtless largely irrelevant to

your question, but may be relevant to some in the group at lare--I hope!

Love to all of you, n Rojas

Bill, you are definitely correct about the pancreatic pain, which, unless

something else is wrong with it, should disappear with good diabetic

control. Love to you, and all in our group, n Rojas, wMs
