Guest guest
I don't know if there is any snow in Chicago right now. Our cold weather in Kansas has moved on, and we have had 60-70s last two days, supposed to be nice all next week. Check the Internet for weather in Chicago. Hope you have a good time. --- Dena LEAVITT wrote: > Hi Everyone > > I will be heading to Chicago Illinois for a > conference > on Monday. Honestly, I am a little worried. Guest guest
Dena, Winter is a challange if you have never done it. It takes practice. Hopefully the heavily traveled roads will be kept clean. Have a fun, but very safe trip. Guest guest
Dena, Snow should be mostly all be melted in Chicago by Monday. We lost at least 6 inches of it today ( in Iowa ) You should be driving on dry roads. Bring lots of quarters for the toll roads. Guest guest
Safe driving to you Dena. Up here around Toronto rain is coming in, temperatures are rising significantly above freezing, snow is melting and the roads are clear. Not sure how that impacts in Chicago, but it looks like spring is springing! I hope it remains that way for you. > > Hi Everyone > > I will be heading to Chicago Illinois for a conference > on Monday. Honestly, I am a little worried. Guest guest
Hi Dena, I haven't posted for a while but try to keep up on emails. I live in the suburbs 30 miles west of Chicago. Dann, your right that most of the snow should be gone next week. We had quite a bit of melting today and then some rain. We are supposed to have highs in the 50s most of the week. The quarters have now become almost dollars - the whole toll system has changed. We now have automatic transponders where they deduct the tolls automatically so you will have to look for the cash lanes. By the way you may have to watch the traffic on some of the major highways - not necessarily the toll roads for construction which is just starting lane closures. Welcome to the Windy City (named for the " windy politicians " !) although it can be windy here too. Gwen Dann wrote: Dena, Snow should be mostly all be melted in Chicago by Monday. Guest guest
Dena, I am East of Chicago in Detroit. We usually get their weather after them. By this weekend, we are having a 50 degree heat wave for the next week. You should be fine. You won't even get to see the snow! Most will be melted by the time you get here., And after I was in Cal,, you shouldn't even have to much trouble with the 50 degree weather. I froze in Cal in the evenings. Have a good trip. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.
