Guest guest
Hello everyone, Just wanted to post my intro and say hello. Thank you for allowing me to join the list. I'm Tina, 44, divorced mom of five sons; 14, 11, 9 and 7 yr old twins. I've been diagnosed with Fibro for less than a year now, I see a physiatrist (she diagnosed me) and am hoping to finally get started in physical therapy (water therapy). I feel that I've had Fibro since I was in my early twenties, after an accident when I was 19, things have been going downhill ever since. Anxious to learn from you how you manage living with Fibromyalgia, thanks again for this opportunity. tina joplin mo

Guest guest
Wow, I'm impressed, someone from very nearby actually belongs to the list! Thank you Tina, for writing. I actually didn't break anything when I got hurt, (it was a sledding accident), but did some damage to my upper back that has given me problems with pinched nerves. The pregnancy with the twins didn't help matters any, I feel it pushed me over the edge. I also injured my shoulder about four years ago and it's caused me to have very painful neck and shoulder pain, it's the reason I persisted and finally got the diagnosis this past spring. Great to hear you recommending the water therapy and have heard also heard other positive things about yoga...I will have to look into that. Best wishes for your trip and new child! That's very exciting! I treasure my kids, don't know what I'd do without them...you're right, they are what keeps me "young", if you can call it that, lol...and moving in a forward direction everyday. Up until this winter, I was a full time student at MSSU here in Joplin. I am attempting to get my undergrad degree, again...since my divorce. I may have to put it on hold yet again, since I cannot attend classes when I have a kid home sick from school, as I have no real help with them. This tends to make my grades suffer, lol...when I can't be there! What do you do, are you at home or do you leave the house to more work? =o) Thank you again for your response. hugs, tina joplin mo
Guest guest
Well come Tina, I'm K from Iowa and I have two grown children. A boy Ty 26 and a girl Tina 22. I'm 53 and have been disabled since 1981. I think we should ask you how youo've survived with 5 boys!!! and TWINs toboot......?????? Altho I've found my son much easier to grow up with than my daughter tho I love them both eaqually. My answer to your question is LAUGHTER at least for me it is. I've had to learn to laugh at my self. And believe me I have a lot of laugh lines. LOL That's kept me sane plus a solid Scandanavian background and family that is tops. God Bless my Grandmothers..!!!! Barring that a Dr. who understood me. Another blessing. Of course he had to go thru back surgery to understand my pain. If I said I was in pain then I was in PAIN. He's seen me walk into his office with three fractured toes...and laugh it off or stay out of the hospital with a partially collapsed lung..hoping it would ionflate on it's own rather than go thru having a tube jammed into my side and ICU.<-- [most men would be screaming in pain]So I knew pain but the only pain I couldn't handle was back pain......esp. when the orthopedic Dr. I first saw told me it was all in my head...He apologized years later. WOW... Anyway Pleased to have you join us and look forward to getting to know you and all the new members. Smiles, k > Anxious to learn from you how you manage living with Fibromyalgia, > thanks again for this opportunity. > > tina > joplin mo
