After Explantation

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I am traveling with my kids

because my older son had scheduled visitation time with his father

(we are divorced). Anyway, I saw two doctors here in California,

the first one basically told me that my illnesses or symptoms are in

no way related to my implants and that I'm crazy to want them

removed for that reason alone. Needless to say, I'm not going to

have him do my surgery. The second doctor was awesome. He listened

to what I was saying, he understood that I have been dealing with

different symptoms for 5 years and was at this point where I needed

to makesure that my implants are not the cause, in fact, he even

wrote that in my chart, that I wanted total capsulectomy and

explantation to rule out reaction to implants. I thought that was

pretty great, just because I would never expect a doctor to put that

in writing. Anyway, he was very comforting and I'm going to have my

surgery in December. (I hate to wait, but it was the best we could

schedule so I can have help with my kids during recovery.) I'm very

nervous about looking deformed, not to be so vain, but I'm getting

married in June 06 (a big wedding this time, first one was a quick

trip to the courthouse). The first doctor, the one I didn't like,

said I would have scarring and my nipples would look inverted. The

second doctor said that I wouldn't. But he did say, I would be much

smaller or actually flat :(

But of course, being flat chested and healthy is better than having

an average size and being sick, so off with my boobs!

Can someone tell me more about after surgery, how you look, feel,

scars, nipple issues. Will I be well on my way to recovery by June

of 06 if my surgery is in December of 05?

Any comments or opinions you have would be greatly appreciated. I

will try to be more involved with the group. On Monday the 23rd,

I'll be home, so it will be easier.

Thanks to all of you....

Hugs.
