Explant on June 2nd

I am excited to announce that my explant surgery is scheduled for

June 2nd. I spoke with the nurse today and she assured me that my

Doctor would perform an enbloc during the explant. She agrees that

my body just cannot handle the implants.

She faxed me a material safety data sheet from the manufacturer.

Buried in the twenty some pages, there is a chart that reports the

risk rates to include Graves Disease, Inflammatory Bowel Disease,

Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Thyroiditis. I compared this list

with the disclosure I received from my surgeon and the reports were

identical. Where was my brain when I received this at preop? I was

more scared of the surgery itself and not paying attention to the

possible illness the implants can cause. I think it is important

for anyone considering implants is to request a material safety data

sheet from the manufacturer and research the stated illnesses on the

Internet. I am sure if I had done this, it would have scared me

more than the surgery itself.

implanted)!
