Guest guest Posted March 20, 2010 Report Share Posted March 20, 2010 just posted some numbers on charges Here are some of my favorite numbers This, I contend is what IMPS can do Much of my practice data comes from HowsYourHealth but Medicaid in MAIne gives me some very good metrics --NOT how many A1 c's I o rder) Here is what IMPS can do and what people need to hear that we doThese have been similar for a while nowHere;s the set I got yesterday for JUly 2008-- JUne 2009 for a set of patients that is BIGGER in number than my BLue Cross HMO panel( though still smalll enough to measure) for my managed care medicaid pateitsn the avergae cost per month per person in my pracitceis $ 220.71 .State wide it is 414.71For the nonmanaged care mediciad patietn the cost per month is $ 614 in my practice and 1176.02 state wide Being an IMP working as I do save the state of maine between 200-500 dollars a month over th e rest of the workin docs..Avergae number of ER visits pmpm between the fee for servcie and managed care 0-0.2 pmpm inmy practcie and 0.34-0.79 statewide If I save one er visit a month think a bout the dollars and likely errors. prevented REPEAT er users?? 4.35% for my practice vs 7-17% for the state average avoidable hospitalizations?/per 1000 people? 0. Statewide 5.7- 7.6 For every thousand patiens I mint prevent 6 or 7 hospitlaizations You tell me how much one costsThat is what IMPs do.I assume many of you do the same -- PATIENTS,please remember email may not be entirely secure and that Email is part of the medical record and is placed into the chart ( be careful what you say!)Email is best used for appointment making and brief questions Email replies can be expected within 24 hours-Please CALL if the matter is more urgent .
