Hi all

As I recently posted, I went for an ultrasound of my thyroid yesterday as well as a CT of my chest.... they called me today to come back and re-do the thyroid test as they saw something.... apparently I have a nodule on the right side of my thyroid that I may have to have biopsied.... has anyone dealt with this? I am kind of concerned...

any help would be appreciated

thanks a million

Hi Shari,

Sorry to hear you are going through this mess. I know it's really scary and all but please don't fear what can be found on the biopsy. If it does not turn out good it is nearly always contained in that area.. your thyroid. From what you have written it sounds like you are probably alittle bit hypo thyroid. Stinks to have this going on for sure.

I would just rather they do it now so I stop worrying about it but you know doctors..... HMO too. anyways - I read up on them a little today. They do not seem to be too big of a deal but I really do not know what to think at this point. The fact is, I have been the same size fir years and years other than being pregnant. I am shaped and sized just like my mom who is 55. i have stayed at 120 lbs give or take a few depending on which time of the month it was for a 15 years... now all of a sudden I have gained 18 lbs since February

with no changes in my routines and food. i just do not get it - it may just be age but my mom weighs the same as she did 20 years ago and she had a hysterectymy 3 years ago. nobody wants to talk to me about it but it is freaking me out - my clothes do not fit anymore... I am not sure what to do. I have been seriously watching what I eat lately but it has not changed. I'll just add that to my other major depression issues. we will see what happens.any ideas onthe thyroid thing would be greatly appreciated... Hi Shari,

Me again, just thought of something... it's ridiculous for these stupid docs to make you wait months for biopsy or treatment. I would find another doctor.. you can't just go on like this for months! A really good sight for thyroid info is www.healthboards.com and go to thyroid disorders. They can answer alot of questions there.
