Guest guest
Hi Shari, Yes, I have three nodules on my thyroid. Two were very small and the other was quite large. I had a biopsy which really scared me but it really wasn't that bad. I thought that it would be painful but it wasn't bad. The nodule was so large that it was pushing on something giving me a sore throat and ear ache. When I told the doctor that the nodule was doing that he said that it was impossible for that to happen. When they stuck the needle in, the pain shot up to my ear and I told him. He had to insert the needle from another angle. At that time they took enough fluid out that my ear aches stopped for several months but now I have them back again. Also, I heard that it is quite common to have nodules on your thyroid. My thyroid is working properly but I just have these lumps. I was also told that it is rare that they are benign. About the only people to get thyroid cancer are those exposed to nuclear waste. Try not to worry. I've been through it and the biopsy on my breast was much worse. I was really quite surprised. Take care, halvey70@... wrote: Hi allAs I recently posted, I went for an ultrasound of my thyroid yesterday as well as a CT of my chest.... they called me today to come back and re-do the thyroid test as they saw something.... apparently I have a nodule on the right side of my thyroid that I may have to have biopsied.... has anyone dealt with this?
