Guest guest
Dearest Rogene: I am still positive for MGUS and Dr. Vodjani said that MGUS never goes away. He claims that women who have had silicone breast implants are at a greater risk of developing MM. I do not trust Harvard, would you believe that I just realized that I'm wearing a Harvard sweat shirt. (This MM is another cover-up). I have been sending some to at work because he has better computers there. I have a friend and she is dying from MM, she is talking to DR. Blais. She had her ruptured breast implants out a few months ago. Dr. Feng removed them, she had them for 19 years. Her name is Tiki and she wrote to me yesterday because she wants to talk to the media before she dies. I plan to call her later today...she lives in Ottawa. love you....Lea -------------------------------------- Original Message ----- From: " sey " <fuchsmorrissey@...> <devans@...> Cc: <ilena@...> Sent: Saturday, April 07, 2001 9:32 PM Subject: Fwd: Harvard's Latest Finding...Yet Another Dow " Red Herring " Ilena, post if you wish IF it is okay with Lea... so others will understand my personal comments. I also feel that the breast implant companies are far lower than Philip or Firestone, so are some researchers, physicians. But if you re-read Dr. Potter's NCI 1994 study Induction of Plasmacytomas With Silicone Gel in Genetically Susceptible Strains of Mice AND the Editorial in the issue of the NCI Journal July 20, 1994, Volume 86, Number 14 page 1040, Silicone Gels, Induction of Plasma Cell Tumors, and Genetic Susceptibility In Mice: a Call for Epidemiologic Investigation of Women with Silicone Breast Implants by Drs. Salmon and (both myeloma specialists)... it clearly states: " Perhaps some reassurance can be gotten from the fact that experimental plasmacytomas can be induced only under ...conditions in GENETICALLY SUSCEPTIBLE MICE " . IF (and its a big IF), IF the same is true for humans, THEN MOST WOMEN WITH IMPLANTS ARE PROBABLY NOT AT INCREASED RISK FOR MGUS OR MULTIPLE MYELOMA. NOTE KEY WORDS HERE, " IF " and " genetically susceptible " . I have come from two who have died from myeloma. I watched my mother die at 45 pounds plus her spine popped out of her back. She had very aggressive myeloma far more so than my grandmother who also died from MM. Both were smokers. I do not have myeloma to date, yet I am being followed by a cancer specialist. I do have MS, asthma, a poorly defined CTD, problems in the spine at L4, L5 and have had a elevated IgM & more... My immune response WAS ENHANCED by my very failed 3M/McGhan breast implants as were our children who took " hits " via the placental barrier through fetal cells in autoimmunity. And I shall add there are no pure bred humans on the face of this earth! Might you have the total current head count of those who have MGUS/MULTIPLE MYELOMA? I do not. If you or anyone may, do please share the head count of MGUS/MM patients who were exposed to breast implants with all of us. I would love to know how many have MGUS/myeloma and were exposed to breast implants. And did anyone do a good genetic pedigree on these women who are positive MGUS/MYELOMA to find if there is " clustering " of autoimmunity within their history? Also, in the study of Mechanisms of Silicone-by Dr. A.H. Mc it states in this study: " however, they also support a role for silicone gel in ENHANCING disease development in genetically-susceptible individuals. Note the medical word of art-ENHANCING in genetically-susceptible individuals! NOW LOOKING AT " CLUSTERING " OF AUTOIMMUNITY and RA- a genetic predisposition... look at Drs. Britton's/Lori Brown's study...speaks of " clustering " of autoimmunity " and RA as it states FAMILIAL HISTORIES OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. Then look at what Dr. Hardt, Florida is doing ---- again, with RA/ " clustering " of autoimmunity. All of this makes a clear circle back to " enhance the immune system " , THE ENHANCEMENT of a foreign material (silicone) such as a protein-which protein excesses are common in many diseases, PRIMARILY THOSE THAT STIMULATE THE IMMUNE SYSTEM, SUCH AS LUPUS, MYELOMA AND SIMILAR CONDITIONS...similar conditions also like RA, MS and SCLERODERMA besides lupus and myeloma! An adjuvant is a substance that can ENHANCE the immune response to a foreign material (such as protein). ***** SIMPLY PUT, OUR BODIES DO NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CLASSIC PROTEIN EXCESSES AND FOREIGN BODY PROTEIN EXCESSES (silicone exposure)...it is all the same to us who have the genetic predispositon therefore we become ENHANCED! A genetic adjuvant disease or a genetic adjuvant disease-LIKE problem... Long and the short of this is... breast implants are not safe, nor an acceptable risk to put breast implants on top of a genetic predispostion/ " clustering " of autoimmunity. The problem is a lot bigger than MGUS/MYELOMA! And the Harvard researchers are missing the boat of IMMUNE SYSTEM ENHANCEMENT at our/MANKIND's expense! AND breast implant women as the children also ARE NOT CLASSIC AUTOIMMUNITY as they have UNIQUE SYMPTOMS! My girls and I have lived with classic autoimmunity in my family! MY CHILDREN ARE THE MUTATION OF THE ABERRATION (WHICH IS ME) OF THE CLASSIC DISEASE OF AUTOIMMUNITY (WHICH IS MY GENETICS). Go back, study and look at what Dr. Alan Bridges states about breast implants. Are all the women in Edmonton who have +MGUS who were exposed to implants going in every year for blood work to be followed for their postive MGUS? Is their blood work/symptoms waxing and waning, sometime postive, sometime not, sometimes going wacky? Different triggers produce different UNIQUE SYMPTOMS, (RE: breast implants). One other thing if so many have +MGUS in Edmonton is there something other than breast implants that is in the environment?...are there others without implants postive for MGUS/myeloma also? These are all things that need to be taken into account and addressed. Does the FDA-USA have knowledge that so many from where you live have come up +MGUS and were exposed to implants? They need to know what you have stated. It needs to be followed! Different triggers will produce different symptoms, UNIQUE symptoms. IF I ever get myeloma, I will not be " classic " myeloma, nor " classic " to my maternal grandmother and mom who both died from myeloma as they took " hits " of a different trigger than I. I feel that if one who has implants and has postive MGUS/OR has myeloma I feel that breast implants pulled her trigger IN HER YOUTH as her immune system was ENHANCED by implants! But doctors care to see what they want to see to cover their own tails of great medical harm. And no, you need not agree with what I have to say. It is my own personal viewpoints to what I personally have lived since 1976 as a teenage plastic surgery patient. And I should not have a 10-yr old with scleroderma, a swallowing disorder, and an " acral bone dysplasia " ...which I do feel her health concerns are the end result from taking " hits " of the exposure from my very, very failed silicone breast implants from fetal cells in autoimmunity. She, as her sisters were ENHANCED via the placental barrier through fetal cells in autoimmunity. Take care, Fuchssey@... ------------------- My Dear : Thank you for this; however, anything that Harvard publishes is definitely questionable, and frankly they have no credibility anymore. It's already well known that Harvard's previous pronouncements were Dow-inspired and Dow-funded. Burston Marsellar has done its job well in suggesting to Dow that they buy or bribe America's most prestigious institutions with medical funding to try to claw back some respectability. Unfortunately, some of America's finest research centres will now be tarred with the same brush as Dow: liars, cheats, dissemblers, academic prostitutes...you name it. They lie, lie, lie, lie and lie. Harvard's latest " study " is nothing more than a red herring...aimed at distracting everybody from the real issues. I would believe Dr.A.Vojdani and his colleagues before any Harvard study! We have so many women right here in Edmonton who are positive for MGUS, all had silicone breast implants! I am positive for MGUS myself, but no one else in my family is. Silicone migrates to the bone marrow as well as all other major organs, etc. That so many women worldwide have MGUS...and that so many of them have, or have had, breast implants...is no accident. It's a scientific impossibility. Love always... Lea ----------------------- PLEASE POST DEAR ILENA> THANK YOU ----- Original Message ----- From: " sey (by way of ilena rose) " <fuchsmorrissey@...> <Recipient List Suppressed:> Sent: Friday, April 06, 2001 9:46 PM Subject: BREAST IMPLANTS ARE THE ENHANCEMENT OF THE IMMUNE SYSTEM ILENA, PLEASE POST TO ALL. LADIES PLEASE REMEMBER WHEN YOU READ THIS STUDY BELOW THAT WAS POSTED ON THE MYELOMA LIST I AM ON: An adjuvant is a substance that can ENHANCE the immune response to a foreign material (such as a protein). REMEMBER: ENHANCE, ( " enhance " is the important " medical word of art " chosen in this saying)... ENHANCE a foreign material (silicone) such as a protein- which protein excesses are common in many diseases, PRIMARILY THOSE THAT STIMULATE THE IMMUNE SYSTEM, SUCH AS LUPUS, MULTIPLE MYELOMA/MM AND SIMILAR CONDITIONS...similar conditions like RA, MS AND SCLERODERMA/ " clustering " of autoimmunity besides lupus and myeloma. I feel that not a lot with the exposure to breast implants will get myeloma only those with the genetic predispostion, BUT BREAST IMPLANTS WILL INDEED ENHANCE THE IMMUNE RESPONSE as we are ALL dealing with the total ENHANCEMENT of ones immune response whether end result is " classic autoimmunity " or " not classic autoimmunity " . I do see this as we are living it as my maternal grandmother who had very, very bad RA/ " clustering " of autoimmunity died from myeloma. My mother died from myeloma June1994. They both were smokers, took " hits " of a different trigger smoking: Aflatoxin/aspergillus flavus, Tobacco, Ammonia, The p-53 Tumor Suppressor Gene, which is cancer's missing link. My children and I were exposed to breast implants. These children took " hits " via the placental barrier through fetal cells in autoimmunity. Breastfeeding was extra " hits " . I have MS, asthma, a poorly defined CTD, problems in the spine at L4-L5 and more. Our daughters have health concerns. Our 10-yr old has scleroderma (scleroderma runs hand-in-hand with silica exposure), a swallowing disorder and an " acral bone dysplasia " (silica binds the bone). I will go further as I question MICROCHIMERISM/GVHD-FETAL CELLS IN AUTOIMMUNITY. Microchimerism which refers to " the presence of foreign cells in one's body. So put microchimerism which is the presence of foreign cells in one's body along with taking " hits " of foreign protein excesses (silicone in this case) along with a genetic predisposition/ " clustering " of autoimmunity and a POSSIBLE " TWO HIT " THEORY... Then how many " hits " does it take to cross the threshold to the chronic/defined disease? " Two hits " , " five hits " , " ten hits " or more? AND what about HERVs, ALU and jumping genes in this whole process? END RESULT, I feel will indeed be the enhancement of the immune system, plain and simple! CAUSATION OF SILICONE is the ENHANCEMENT OF THE IMMUNE RESPONSE! AND different triggers will produce different symptoms, sometime UNIQUE symptoms. Living this 24/7 in my own family. These researchers from Harvard as others need to look at the big picture of the ENHANCEMENT OF THE IMMUNE RESPONSE. Which is the immune system only going through the proper changes given the environmental trigger/time factor of exposure which is ENHANCING the immune system totally. Because the enhancement the immune system goes out of control as it was programmed in a different way, seeing what it was exposed to, in this case silicone breast implants! Researchers care to see what they wish to see...and the medical mind should not/CAN NOT be made up once and for all that breast implants are " safe " and have an " acceptable risk " . They are not safe, nor have an acceptable risk IF one wishes to OBSERVE WELL with that open-mind which is indeed VITAL to medicine, science and research to uphold itself to that higher standard of DO NO HARM. Breast implants ENHANCE the immune system. Take care, Fuchs-sey Fuchssey@... ------------------- From: " Kathleen Beymer " <kjbeymer@...> " IMF List " <myeloma@...>, " MMA List " <myeloma@...> Subject: [MMA] No Link Seen Between Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2001 14:14:08 -0800 Multiple Myeloma Association (MMA) - http://www.webspawner.com/users/myelomaexchange/ No Link Seen Between MGUS and Breast Implants ------------------------------------------------- BOSTON--The purported association between breast implants and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance seems to be fading. A Harvard team reported that the rate of MGUS was comparable among 288 women who'd had or still had breast implants and 288 women who'd never had implants-five vs. four patients. It was the sixth study, though the first cohort study using stored blood samples instead of medical records, to find no association. In contrast, three case series and the National Cancer Institute's registry, all reported in 1996, reported an association. The nine with MGUS came from the 32,826 women in the prospective Nurses' Health Study who provided 30 ml of blood in 1988 for future research. None of the nine had developed multiple myeloma or other hematologic disease by 1996, reported rheumatologist W. Karlson of Brigham and Women's and olleagues in the March 26 Archives of Internal Medicine. Eventually 24% of women with MGUS develop multiple myeloma, macroglobulinemia, amyloidosis, or related diseases. Among the five women with implants who developed MGUS, three had devices filled with silicone gel, though a separate analysis showed no significant association between this kind of device and MGUS. One woman had a saline implant and the other was unknown. The five women averaged eight years older than the four in the control group with MGUS. The investigstors said this indicated that implants do not cause MGUS at a younger than expected age. Other reports found multiple myeloma developing at unusually young ages among women with silicone breast implants.
