Guest guest
We are currently laughing here at the office over something that is funny in a very sick way and it actually pisses me off as I am conflicted as a taxpayer, doctor and morally. I have a 30 something yo patient who is “disabled” and not working d/t anxiety and being a single parent. Who is having difficulty raising the two sons he has custody of, and recently fathered 2 infants with different women, neither of whom I believe he is still “dating” .. He is uninsured as no longer qualifies for Family Care. Wants samples of his meds and help buying them and applying for “charity” and assistance. Won’t even buy his own cream for athlete’s foot or recently, scabies in the household. Is calling me for an urgent Viagra prescription after missing his appointment today because his car broke down but asks the receptionist if I will prescribe Viagra as his erection doesn’t last long enough. And is upset he has to wait to discuss this with me at his appointment now on Monday. OK. As a taxpayer and morally, I am saying: “Good, maybe he will stop reproducing then.” As a doctor, I can’t say that though can I. It’s hilarious if it weren’t so sad. Talk about having some personal responsibility and all.
