Explant surgery for Extreme Makeover

I am,

frankly, overwhelmed at the responses regarding Extreme Makeover’s

interest in finding a breast explant candidate for

our show. I am also incredibly

moved by all the personal stories I’ve received.

Extreme Makeover covers the cost of all procedures (as well

as travel, accommodations, food, etc.) during the candidates stay in Los

Angeles. If you are familiar with our show, then

you are well-aware that an explant story would be

quite a departure for us. That said, the candidate – in addition to the explant surgery – would have to be someone who wants/needs some kind of facial

plastic surgery as well.

If you know someone who is interested in being on our show, please have

them email me a picture or two (face & full body). Also, please have them include their age

and current weight in the text of their email.

Thank you for your email of support. I sincerely hope we find the right

person to help tell their story to a primetime national audience.

I know there are many women

who cannot afford to have their implants removed, even though they desperately need

them out. We have one woman in my community who is waiting until she's old

enough to qualify for Medicare, since she cannot get health insurance. She does

not participate in any support group and is still somewhat naive regarding the

implant scene. Is the show willing

to pay for explant surgery? If so, I think we can

keep you busy for months!
