Speaking of not eating things that trigger symptoms... I am so ill

Have you all heard of the book Eat right for

your type? It is a diet for your blood type

and which foods to avoid that can make you even

sicker because of your blood type? It is a great

book. Renea

Hi Renea,

I have that book, and his cookbook too. It makes alot of sense,

although there are some health professionals who pooh-pooh it.

I am a firm believer in trying new ideas in diets...it doesn't hurt

to experiment and see if there are things we are reacting to. Many

of us probably have food allergies or reactions that we aren't even

aware of. It may be very subtle, but be the one thing that keeps us

feeling icky. Often times we crave the very things that are making

us react. It's so strange.

I haven't found that I needed to follow his suggestions for my blood

type all that closely. But for some people, it may make all the

difference in the world. Thanks for the reminder!

I have that book. It sounds good but I didn't really think it made

alot of difference for me. I had been eating that way anyway,

instintively. I know that Dr. Mercola really touted it for

awhile. But then he has his own diet he touts and then he really

touted The Maker's Diet by JOrdin Rubin. Of all three, I think

Jordin Rubin's was the closest to being the most well thought out.

In fact, I think he goes over all the other diets in his book and

shows the pros and cons of each one. These three diets overlap a

bit. I think we are all so individual that there is alot of trial

and error involved in finding what works best for you. There are

some very different opinions out there about what is healthy for

eating. I guess I try to take the middle of the road. I eat

organically when I can, I try to make sure I eat raw foods daily, I

try to eat lactofermented foods and don't eat pork, fried foods,

sweets, etc. Some people do fabulously on a completely raw diet,

while others find they require animal protein. One thing is for

sure---baked sweets, fried foods, and convenience foods only harm

our health---as well as sweeteners such as aspartame, diet sodas,

splenda, etc. If you don't have Jordin Rubin's book, I would

suggest you buy it. He also wrote " patient heal thyself " and

another one about curing your digestive tract. I have all three.

He is the founder of Garden of Life products such as Primal

Defense. Many of us here have used his products and find them to be

of high quality.

Beth, I have patient heal thyself. Great inspirational. I have

been on Primal defense for a couple of months-great product.

I will look into the other book. It is so hard to stay away from

sugar! That is my hardest thing. But, I will keep trying. Thanks, Renea

Fungus and yeast feed on sugar . . . The sugar

cravings are coming from the fungus/yeast. Once you

get things under control, those cravings will cease.

If you want to see it happen, put a teaspoon of yeast

each in two glasses . . . add 1/2 cup of water to each

glass, then put a teaspoon of sugar in one of the

glasses and see what happens!
