Guest guest
I remeber my rheumy saying a strep infection can open the doors for a flare.........maybe you should premedicate with an antibiotic before social events..especially in the spring when strep is soooo happy! Ask the doc...wonder what they think of that? Sorry you went thru hell....again! Liz
Guest guest
Good question Liz, I will ask. I am also going to see if I can maybe drop my dose of Mtx.. I can't stand getting sick the second I see anyone but my Husband or Parents.. Crazy. It seems that taking the two antibiotics, mucinex, and rotating Advil and Tylenol is finally keeping my temp under a 100. I hope to take a shower today and try to feel normal. I managed to really mess up my muscle next to my right shoulder blade from all of the coughing. crazy. But overall, a bit better today. So one day at a time, the two antibiotics seem to be the right combo, even though the ER staff were completely out of it and didn't really know how to deal with stills. I seem to be getting past this by knowing how to deal with it myself. For those of you that tend to run low in potassium and other minerals and don't like gateraid/poweraid. SmartWater seems to be a great alternative when you are sick - has the potassium, etc. but not the taste you don't like - just an FYI. It made a big difference for me the last few days. Take care all, Hugs, Alli
