Guest guest
hi lea; i have a relative in pain after she explanted, (not one of our drs) and is on meds. and is hard for her to even get to a computer.am wondering for her, do drs always put a drain and pump in after explant surgery? she keeps saying she wants to talk to someone who's had pain after surgery. thanks lea. gg Re: Explanted yesterday Dear : Congratulations on making a very difficult decision. This will be a new beginning for you, because you will get your health back. When I had my drains removed, my pain got better; however, it might take some time. Some of the most beautiful women in the world are flat. Please take time to allow your body to heal, no lifting, and get plenty of rest. Honey, your cough worries me, because you should not have a cough. Have you ever smoked, and/or are you around someone who smokes? Many of us become chemically changed, and we seem to be allergic to many things that most people can tolerate. I had silicone breast implants for eighteen years, and I am still struggling with some health issues. Stay close to this wonderful group of women, and we will help you to get through this...sending love always.........Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Explanted yesterday Thanks for your kind and helpful posts. I have two drains and a pain pump and a wrap. Things are getting itchy, but I suppose I just leave all in place until drains ae removed. I suppose I can only sponge bath until drains are out .. or sutures removed? The pain is not too bad but I suppose the pump is helping. I have been nauseous a good bit but improving hour by hour. I'm trying not to take Demorol if I can avoid. Does anyone know if pain is much worse after removal of pain pump?I think I might have a cold/cough, and it is very difficult to cough.I am flat now, so I've been going through links sent by Patty to try to find a bra and enhancers. Guest guest
hi lea; the problem is the dr who did the explant says there's no more she can do. she doesnt see a problem, or if so, isnt admitting or doesnt want to get involved. i dont believe the patient had drains tho. i keep telling her she needs an mri, but i dont think she believes me. its too bad shes not well enough to keep on with this group. i also wonder about scar tissue, which she thinks it might be. is this common? and is it painful? how do you get rid of it - doesnt it keep reoccuring with any surgery? thanks lea. gg Re: Explanted yesterday Dear Gayle: Honey, all doctors should put drains in after explant surgery. That is the only way to get rid of any fluid that might collect around the surgical area. My case is so different, because I had the silicone gel, and they were ruptured for so long. How long ago was your friend explanted? Pain medications could be covering up another problem that might have occurred from the surgery. She should see her doctor as soon as possible, because she might have an infection. I am not a doctor; however, I have been through this process. Guest guest
Oh, Dear Gayle: The scar tissue/capsules must be removed, because she will not get well if they are left in her body. That is what happened to me, and the doctors have told me that my health will not improve unless the capsules are removed. Do you know who did her surgery, because it would be in her surgical report? We must find out if her doctor removed her capsules, and I hope that she will not be intimated by asking this very important question. I still have pain in my breasts, but they are dead. My left breast was partly removed; however, I still feel pain. I am sorry that your friend must go through all this pain. Guest guest
hi lea; i asked her once about capsules, and she seemed to think the dr. got that out because she mentioned capsules to her. can you have scar tissue even if they are out, or is capsules the only thing that causes scar tissue? what else could be causing pain in the breast area if the capsules are out, or do some drs. not get them out correctly? what would diagnose this,- anything other than an mri, or is that what she needs? she wont go back to the same dr. because she's told her she cant do anything else for her. (dr not on list of drs for this group) i can try again to ask about capsules, but i'm not sure this dr. wants to be involved, - you know how that goes with some of them re. silicone. she is forgetful and has brain fog, as well as pain. i wish she could communicate with the group more, but she seems unable, so i'm kind of trying to do it for her long distance. thanks, lea.gg Re: Explanted yesterday Oh, Dear Gayle: The scar tissue/capsules must be removed, because she will not get well if they are left in her body. Guest guest
My Dear Gayle: Sorry about yesterday, but I had a bad day. It sounds like your friend had her capsules removed. I wonder if she might have a Seroma, because they can be painful. She must see her doctor, and he/she might do an ultrasound of her breasts. Here in Canada it is very difficult to get an MRI; however, that would be the best in my opinion. When did she have her implants removed, because if it was recently it takes time to heal. The brain fog is a common complaint for most women, but it will get better with time. Rest and no stress are very important to be able to heal. Where does your friend live, because perhaps one of the ladies in our group might know of a good plastic surgeon who would be willing to help. I was looking for an article by Dr. Blais regarding residual capsule, but I seem to have lost it. Thank you for helping your friend...love always......Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Explanted yesterday Thanks for your kind and helpful posts. Guest guest
Good Morning, Gayle: My symptoms are always the same: severe joint pain, fatigue, GI attacks, and a lot of depression. Like many of the women, I have lost my children and most all of my friends. When you are sick all of the time, you are no longer fun to be around. Honey, a seroma is a collection of fluids, and it should be removed. I had a large seroma in my left breast, and they had to remove most all of the breast. We have a few women who have had more than one seroma, because these are like little cysts and are hard to detect. I am not a doctor, but many women have told me that they can be very deep in the pocket. I keep getting an abscess in my left breast, and when it breaks it literally poisons me. That is when my doctor puts me on antibiotics, and this has become a vicious circle. We need to find a good plastic surgeon to remove the garbage out of my breasts, because this is the only way to get my health back. Guest guest
Thank you, Gayle: I live in Canada, and my plastic surgeon was Dr. Voloshin who now lives in California. The plastic surgeon who removed my breast implants did not remove the capsules, and then we had to find another plastic surgeon to clean me out; however, he botched the surgery. In the surgical report he had put that he was going to do a double mastectomy, he did not do this. If he had done the double mastectomy, I would not have all of the health problems that I have now. From: Lea <leamarytelus (DOT) net>Subject: Re: Explanted yesterday Date: Saturday, August 8, 2009, 10:32 AM Thank you, Gayle: I live in Canada, and my plastic surgeon was Dr. Honey, that is why we must make sure that we find the correct surgeon who will remove breast implants properly. Stay close...love you...Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~` Explanted yesterday Thanks for your kind and helpful posts. When am I likely to put on a bra? Thanks for all your help.
Guest guest
Lea, It really saddens me that you cannot get this junk out of your breasts....after all these years??? Why cannot anyone do it for you and stop you from living with this once and for all? Sending hugs, Patty > > Good Morning, Gayle: > > My symptoms are always the same: severe joint pain, fatigue, GI attacks, and a lot of depression. > > Stay close...love you always....Lea > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` > Explanted yesterday > > > > Thanks for your kind and helpful posts. Guest guest
Oh yes it can be the implants! Most definitely! It happened to me, though I did not throw up. But the doctors always say the same thing. " We don't know what it is, but it's not the implants. " How can they say such a thing? If your daughter in law wants to get better, she will have to circumvent the traditional medical route and go alternative, as most naturopathic and holistically minded doctors know that implants are doing bad things in the body of some women. When you went to the Cleveland Clinic, did she see Dr. Lu Feng? Dr. Feng is an expert on breast implants and explantation, and you will get the truth from her. Please let us know how things work out for her. She will need to remove the implants to get better, and start addressing toxicity issues, and in my opinion based on all I have learned in the past 10 years...hormonal issues also. It's a very misunderstood area of medicine, but vital in autoimmunity!
