Guest guest
But some of us really upped our estrogen use to save us from the overdose. Although it was olive oil (which sometimes is like half the dose of E with HRT cream) Nuimom and I were up at 40 - 50mg (+on bad days) of estrogen when the overdose and P surging was really bad last year in the early summer. If I had enough E then my legs were ok and I could walk. And the allergies went away and the sore kidneys... etc. etc. Nuimom uses about 15mg of E a day and I vary depending on what's going on and where I am in my cycle, but it is more like 3 - 9mg of HRT cream E/ day for me now. More E smacks down the P overdose for us. LaurelElleblue, Wow, I'm concerned that the reaction was not slowed down at all by the antihistamine and you needed cortisone to stop your body from trying to get rid of the toxin too fast. I wish I could say we knew a way to expedite progesterone detox but we haven't discovered any. Some report that massage feels like it moves the progesterone stored in the tissues right into the bloodstream. So be careful about that one. The only strategy that seems to have helped many of us is taking estradiol in an olive oil base to balance the progesterone overdose. It may take months. The half-life of transdermal progesterone is four months (that's the time it takes half of it to clear your system). We don't know how long it will take for half of that to excrete, and half of that, and so on. Please tell your doctor that you are experiencing the same symptoms as many other women and that this regimen is under investigation. Welcome! You've come to the right place. Lynne .
