Guest guest
Dear Devan, I have had the purple spots before on my arms. My rheumy told me it was from broken blood vessels. He called it petiche, something like that anyway. He pronounced it pateekee. Wish I could be of more help. Love, Kathie
Guest guest
- Dear Lea The purple spots could be from the coumadin. It causes very easy bruising and skin discoloration because it thins the blood and makes the vessels more fragile. But it can also be from autoimmune disorders such as lupus. YOu should call your doctor and describe them and see if they want you to come in to be seen. Also, if it is fromthe coumadin, they should test your levels to make sure you aren't getting your blood too thin---that can be dangerous also. So you should call your doctor and check it out. Take care! love, kathy -- In , " Lea " <devans@c...> wrote: > Dearest Ladies: > > I'm on Coumadin (blood thinners) and again today I have noticed that I have purple spots on my arms. Do any of you know what this could be? My shin is very thin and my veins are so visible. I'm a bit frightened because I have had this before. I have forgotten to ask my doctor about these spots. > > Thank you...love....Lea
Guest guest
Dearest Kathy: Thank you. I do see my doctor on Saturday and I will ask him about these spots. My list of questions has started, he always asks where is the list. I try to buy funny little note pads and he likes that too. I do have lupus and I know that it can cause many symptoms, like depression, brain fog and lots of pain. The doctors claim that I have MS, and I do have lesions on the left side of my brain, it seems that my left side has been damaged more than my right. Kathy, you are always so polite and positive, do you have a story? Love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` Re: Purple spots on my arms?? > - > Dear Lea > The purple spots could be from the coumadin. Guest guest
- Thanks Lea. I just wish that I could make you all better. It breaks my heart to see others suffering. And it always encourages me to see how so many of us are courageous enough to fight back, and persistently trying new things to get our bodies to heal. And the faith in God and the sisterhood on this site is awesome and inspiring. Whenever one of us is down there is always someone--and usually many--who are here to offer comfort, support and advice! I never really wrote my story, but there is a post that I wrote someone seeking advice on whether to get implants or not and patty put that in the files sections under our stories. You are such a courageous woman and you have a very soft heart for everyone. I am praying that God will continue to lead you on that path of healing. God bless love, kathy -- In , " Lea " <devans@c...> wrote: > Dearest Kathy: > > Thank you. I do see my doctor on Saturday and I will ask him about these > spots. Guest guest
Dearest Kenda: I'm in such a mess regarding my blood work, I looked this morning to see if I could find out about my iron levels. No luck, I will ask my doctor on Saturday. No, I cannot take B vitamins, but I do take a multi-vitamin every night. It is called the Ultimate One. Thank you for responding...love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~```````` Re: Purple spots on my arms??
