Guest guest
Betadine is composed of provodone and elemental iodine, and mostly used as a disinfectant. Provodone is also used in a lot of cosmetics, tooth paste, and pill coatings and white wines. It is a binding agent, and therfore very good at releasing iodine slowly perhaps as needed. To mix with dmos would take all through the skin, is that bad, I am not sure exactly why Betadine is considered toxic for internal use. I have read provodone can be dangerous in the lungs, so that may explain. If you are considering taking lugols iodine, I make, charge and sell that for ten dollars an ounce, plus two bux, shipping, thats much less than normal retail, but I do believe in iodine. I make, charge elemental iodine to a five percent solution, ie atomic iodine, bottle it separately, as elemental iodine is very hostile to cancer cells, it readily enters the cell, on it's own, and of course bottle potassium iodide separately, so you can mix them fifty/fifty and you have a lugols mix, I persoanally take elemental in the mornings, then potassium iodide at noon as the body does need both. If you would like to try it, send me your address, I will ship, and if you think you got a good product, then send me the money, hunee. david lubbock tx. Guest guest
Can anyone tell me how much Betadine is? Here (in Thailand) it's about 60 cents retail for 25ml, and if there was demand I'd be happy to ship a package of them FOC to anyone who was willing to distribute to the group. Not sure if there would be any economy in that, but thought I would put it out there. > > I have found great relief in getting alot of iodine into my body - and > also that iodine is not so easy to get as well as expensive. > > Betadine, however - is much easier to get and less expensive. > > I have been using the betadine for transdermal area application and > the alcohol-based tincture for more urgent spot application. > > My questions are specifically these, please: > > 1 - Is there any reason not to follow betadine with DMSO ? > > 2 - Has anyone here had good and/or improved results following topical > iodine tincture with DMSO applications ? > > 3 - Is it OK to mix DMSO with the water-based betadine ? > > 4 - Are there any better & more affordable ways to get one's iodine ? > > Thank You ! > >
Guest guest
PB, betadine is about nine dollars on average, depending on strength of iodine, a pint here in texas, the crisis in Japan has driven up our price for elemental iodine crystals, prills to about six dollars an ounce, they were two dollars an ounce six months ago, I know they have good iodine mines in the Russian republic, and also Italy and Canada, not sure about Thailand, david lubbock tx. Guest guest
I bought 1Kg of Iodine prills for about $135 and 1kg of Potassium Iodide crystals for about $100 retail. I think that's enough to last several lifetimes, but the Iodine doesn't store well in liquid form and I've been looking for suitable bottles that don't allow it to evaporate. The betadine, which I've never used, just seen it around the house and thought about it when it was mentioned here, says " Povidone-Iodine USP 10% W/V Equivalent to 1% of available Iodine a first aid antiseptic " , so I don't think it's any good for internal use. > > PB, betadine is about nine dollars on average, depending on strength of > iodine, a pint here in texas, the crisis in Japan has driven up our price > for elemental iodine crystals, prills to about six dollars an ounce, they > were two dollars an ounce six months ago, I know they have good iodine > mines in the Russian republic, and also Italy and Canada, not sure about > Thailand, david lubbock tx. > >
