Guest guest
Clay is the main ingredient, and from there I add all into the bottle and shake well. Refrigerate.. 1-2 swigs per day swished around the mouth and then swallowed. If wanting clay only, add 1/4 cup to liquid. Pectin et al will thicken more and make up for the lowered amt of clay. DE gives a bit of grit, and can be lowered or omitted. Make up a smaller batch and adjust to your body's liking before you decide its not for you. --tls 16 oz Liquid --- (magnetized if you have it) water, coffee, juice or a mix of such 2 oz Clay powder (appx 1/8- 1/4 cup) start low and you can always add more 1 TBS Pectin powder 1/2 tsp DE 1 tsp Charcoal 1 tsp Sugar (sweetener of choice, if needed) . From here I wd taste and see it you like it. Flavor options: 1/8 tsp Cinnamon and/or .. a bit of vanilla or almond extract go well w/ the 'chocolate' theme. I added a small magnesium chloride flake just because I bind up so easily. 1/2 tsp Mag Oil or splash of Milk of Magnesia are other options. Guest guest
I just checked and my feed store sells DE as perma guard and a 10lb bag sells for 12.99 or you can buy it by the pound bulk for .50 cents. Will have to see what I have for a container. Am going to try it for myself and cats. Guest guest
Hi Bonnie - How do you know if this is " food grade " DE? I can never figure this stuff out. Supposedly there is also a food quality Hydrogen peroxide too. Anyone know the differences? For me, the safest bet is to go with the Tack Shops - race horse owner type products. We all know how much care those expensive horses get! Why they even get treated for Lyme!! So if they sell it for use with expensive horses- then maybe it's food grade? Guest guest
I have been a big peroxide user for 15 years. Food Grade just means that it is in concentrated form. i.e. 12% on up to 35%. The stuff you get in Walmart and drug stores in the brown bottle is 3% and they put stabilizers in that to keep it peroxide on the shelf. So to use the concentrated form, you basically will dilute that down to 3% and it does not have any stabilizers in it then. Guest guest
HI All- Just to clarify -- I did not mean to say that just bec. it is sold in the Feed Store that it's good for human consumption - just that* if* Horse Breeders and Race Horse people use it - that may be an indication that it's safe and good. Well we make our own decisions here, right? Just chiming in with info for informed decision making. Lots of people buy their DMSO at the Tack Shop!
