Guest guest
Hi Beth, I was never a big wine drinker, but my parents love German wines like Spatlese, and brought some over when they visited a year or so ago. (This was several years post explant.) I found I was able to tolerate it, and actually enjoyed it very much, but I always have to dilute my wine with half a glass of grape juice. After reading Dr. Don Colbert's book " What Would Jesus Eat? " , I was convinced that red wine in moderation was a good thing. I started to enjoy a half a glass of red organic wine, diluted with organic grape juice each afternoon--did that for about a month or less, and realized that my liver didn't really like it that much! I started to feel icky again. I cut it out, and now, only drink wine on very rare occasions. Even though wine has health benefits, the truth remains that it is still alcohol and therefore still poison to the liver. I think if we are struggling to regain our health, and our livers have born the heaviest burden of our toxicity, then we need to be really careful about adding more toxicity from even our food items like wine. It's sometimes hard to determine exactly what foods could be doing that to us, but suprisingly, there are natural toxins in foods! Like aflatoxin in peanuts. I used to have a link to a discussion of natural toxins in foods. I'll see if I can find it again. I can handle one half glass of wine on rare occasions, and that is about it. Guest guest
Beth, It's probably something from the fermenting process of the wine you're reacting to . . . Rogene

Guest guest
Good idea Kamilei, I've done a number of liver cleanses and have noticed improvement with each one! Guest guest
Hi, I agree with Kamilei. Once I cleaned up my liver, I reacted differently to everything I put into my body. I was on Isocort, an adrenal supplement Dr. Leu prescribed. Regular dose is 7 per day and I couldn’t even tolerate 1/2 per day! The reason was that my liver wasn’t functioning properly. My progesterone level was high because my liver couldn’t dump the progesterone in my body so it kept circulating to the point of becoming toxic. My liver enzymes are normal and I feel well again.
