Guest guest
Let me add to that that anybody with a $20.00 scanner can hear everything that happens on cell phones within range. When I was a kid we used to listen to my dads scanner at night to hear how many people were out having affairs. Every night we heard every cell phone conversation within 20 miles or so. Of course back then they weren't really cell phones but car phones. Landlines, if they are not tapped, are the only safe way to have a secure conversation. Of course you can always get the devices that mess with the tapping <grin> -- Re: Lea: Phones are tapped and ... I have to add my two cents in here, sorry! I know how much we depend on our cells phones...but I really, really think we need to use these with caution! I use mine as little as possible, and my husband uses a hands free set with his.I think we need to be careful, especially since there have been reports about an increase in brain cancers for women who have had implants. If you do an internet search on cell phones and brain cancer, you will find many conflicting results. But, remember, where there's smoke, there's fire. If there were no controversy, there would be no articles to find about this at all. For some reason, the question as arisen about the safety of cell phones, and all the research I have read says, "More studies are needed." Hmmmmm, sounds just like implants to me. It's a personal choice. But as usual, I tend to take the path of safety. Here's one article that explains the concerns:http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news/cell_phone_cancer_link.htmTest Find Possible LinkCell Phones & Brain CancerWASHINGTON, May 22, 1999 -- Tests funded by the cellular telephone industry have found a possible link between cell phone usage and cancer. The studies found both biological indications of cell changes and a statistical link correlating cell phone usage with certain types of brain cancer. The Food and Drug Administration said the results indicate a strong need for more study but not for immediate action to curb cell phone usage. Readers report cell-phone-related health problems The tests were conducted at Stanford University and Integrated Laboratory Systems in Research Triangle Park, NC, and found chromosal changes in blood cells subjected to the same type of electromagnetic radiation emitted by hand-held cell phones. Additionally, an epidemiological study showed nearly a tripling in the incidence of certain cancers -- neurocytomas, which grow inward from the periphery of the brain -- compared with people who do not use cell phones. Another study found that right-handed people who used cell phones and had brain tumors tended to have them on the right side of the brain. Additional studies are being conducted and further analysis of the just-completed studies is underway. Radio frequency emissions are generally regarded as dangerous and workers in broadcasting, aviation and similar fields generally try to avoid prolonged exposure to transmitting antennas. Early cell phones, in which the antennas were mounted outside cars, were not thought to be dangerous. But the newer hand-held models place the transmitting antenna directly against the skull. Further, unlike earlier two-way radios, cell phones are "duplex," meaning that their transmitters remain on even when the user is listening rather than talking, thus increasing the total amount of time the user is exposed to radio waves. > > Honey, it is my lawyer's fault because he sued every health > department, provincial and federal. Guest guest
Dearest Patty: I would never carry my cell phone. These devices are deadly in my opinion. We only carry our cell phones for emergencies. worries about me when we are in a shopping mall, and we have separate cell phone numbers. We hope to get hands free phones for the cars. Our darling Lori carried pepper spray everywhere that she went....it is illegal. Lori would carry a tape recorder with her and tape doctors' conversations and phone calls. She was not afraid of anyone, and that is why she did so much for our cause. I'm really not that brave, plus I worked for the RCMP...they would not like to hear that I am doing anything illegal. Honey, thank you for all of the support....love....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Phones are tapped and our computer > is >> constantly cleansing for viruses?? >> > >> > Dearest Friends: >> > >> > We have known for one month that our phones have been > tapped, >> the phone company told us. Guest guest
Not all cell phones are easily scanned. Most are digital signals these days and not as simple to listen to. I also liked to eavesdrop on strangers when I was younger. But the sad thing is it got to be tooo sad because I live in a small town and there are things you just don't want to hear.
