I had my explantation!

Hi:

I had my explantation last wed. (5/4) and am so happy I needed to

share. I was sooooo nervous about my results --i had an en bloc

capsulectomy- after only 14 months of having saline under muscle

(350cc) Anyway..after all is said and done I think I will look like I

did before. Aside from an awful rash from the surgical tape ( I got

the same reaction at implant) I look already pretty much like I did

before. The first few days were sad and I shed a lot of tears, but

now I am slowly reclaiming myself and my body. It feels so good to

know that my body is all my own now..there is nothing foreign there.

It is amazing what just a year will do to your frame of mind. I

didn't go to the famous 3 Drs always talked abouton the sites...I

went to my original PS and he did a fabulous job. I say this because

I think many women feel you have to travel great distances and see

these particular doctors but you don't. You just need to find a doc

that cares about your reasons for explant...whatever they may

be...and will do the procedure correctly. I must admit, the drains

bothered me as much as the explant!! I just think I have a great

surgeon (who settled for just insurance coverage as payment!) and I

couldn't be happier now. Now I just need to focus on getting rid of

my symptoms since the big job is done. I think I like my new small

almost non-existent breasts! They are all mine and I feel normal now.

Anyway..if anyone is contemplating and worrying about what they will

look like after---just don't. Take it from me...I was so obsessed

that I would be deformed--even my doctor gave me the big talk about

what I could look like--the body is amazing. It is astounding to see

how quickly you can recover. Good luck to all, Shana
