Guest guest
After my rheumy apt I had to run to the eye doctor because the baby furball is teething and thought my glasses would make an excellent chew toy yesterday. I was wearing my contacts today which is something I never do anymore because they have been irriating my eyes more and more over the last few years. I just get contacts to have for special occasions, days at the lake or days at the track (so I can wear sunglasses) I had told her tech my eyes seemed dry and irriated (but thinking it was from the contacts) then we went over my meds and she asked why I was on MTX so I told her and after explaing what still's was she told me that more than likley that was the cause of my eye issues. So the doc come in and does her thing then puts some dye in my eyes to check out the dry eye thing....well, looks like I was a little worse than I thought (by a little I mean ALOT) so as of night now got a couple of RX meds to use to help BUT the reason for my rambling post was to ask about this next part.... she is working on insurance prior auth for a procedure she says will help more than anything else she can do ...... putting " plugs " in my eyes to keep my natural tears in place.....has anyone had this done? have you heard of this? Just as I come to terms with this whole Still's thing it seems like I get thrown another curve ball, have to say this was toatally unexpected because I didn't even realize my eyes were that dry (I mean really....I have other much more pressing problems at the moment) so now I am getting these plugs put in my eyes in the next couple weeks and I don't know anything about them....waiting on my professional " other half' to call me back to tell me what he knows about this one. Anyway anything anyone can tell me about the link between dry eyes and still's would be great and even better yet would be about this plug stuff. Sorry i am venting, but wow.... I got blindsided today..... hugs, Kimberlee
