One of my friends in the group tried to sue her insurance company...she failed. They are so powerful, just like the manufacturers. Please write to , he might listen to you. I wrote to him and asked him to help the sick women, he never responded. Guest guest Posted June 3, 2005 Report Share Posted June 3, 2005 Hi Lea, I also hate them with a passion!!! I sued and won but only received back pay and then after seven months they terminated me. I lost everything I owned because of it. There is a reason that you get a Long Term Disability Insurance policy....so when you get sick and can't work, you have money to pay your bills. I had no idea what I was up against until I got sick. I've heard so many stories from attorney's that it literally makes me sick. They normally will wait until you die if you have a life threatening illness so that they don't have to pay you. They just stretch it out. In my case they use the story that I'm not sick but just depressed. 'Just depressed'. If I were depressed that would be bad enough. They use this because most policies are written so that if you are diagnosed with depression, you will only receive two years of payments! Don't even get me started....I can go on and on.
