Guest guest
To the best of my knowledge Diflucan is not meant to be taken over long periods. I took it once in a single dose and felt great afterwards. I think you may have had too much. You might want to try Primal Defense and Fungal defense by Garden of Life now. Many women here have used them -- Antifungals and not feeling so good.... Hi.Has anyone taken antifungals like diflucan or sporanox??I have been taking them for a while and feel just awful. I am wondering how you know if they are working and what to expectwhen taking them. Also, how many months before you feel better ifthey are doing any good.Any comments would be appreciated if someone has taken these drugs.ThanksGTOpinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals. Guest guest
Hi GT, The die-off of fungus creates toxins the body needs to flush, then replace with positive organisms. Drinking at least 1/2 ound of water for every pound of body weight is essential. Eliminating sugar, refined grains and processed foods is also important. If you are on an anti-fungal for an extended period, you doctor should be monitoring your liver function. That's where the toxins tend to accumulate. That's where Primal Defense, acidopholis, and naturally fermented foods like sauerkraut come in. Read up on yeast problems in a book like " The Yeast Connection " . It's a tough fight, but well worth the effort! Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
I am on a course of Diflucan now and will take it for 14 days. I took antibiotics a couple of months ago and developed an intestinal Candida problem. I felt worse initially when I started the Diflucan but feel fine now, it’s been one week. I would think you’ll know it’s working when your symptoms are less severe. What you are experiencing is likely a die-off reaction. You could cut back and take one Diflucan every other day to help you with the die off and go back to one daily once you feel better. Kenda Hi. Has anyone taken antifungals like diflucan or sporanox?? Guest guest
Yes, it can be taken for extended periods of time. Usually one dose will treat a vaginal yeast infection but not a systemic infection. The longest my doctor has ever prescribed it for is 21 days. I am taking it for a 14-day course now. Kenda To the best of my knowledge Diflucan is not meant to be taken over long periods. Guest guest
Hi I have never taken either of them except I took diflucan one time for a day. It gave me a bad headache. I have known people who took diflucan and they all seemed to think it helped them pretty quickly. It made me want to try it again, but I react rather negatively to just about anything that kills candida and other pathogens. Perhaps you are having a herxheimer. However, those drugs can also have negative side affects and possibly affect the liver. HOw long have you been on them? If it has been longer than a week or two, and you are still feeling crummy, I would be tempted to get off them and try natural antifungals instead. At least you don't have to worry about liver damage on them. I think oil of oregano and olive leaf extract are really good ones. Also, many people have reacted positively to liver cleanses with their candida problems. I know of a couple who really regained their health with the olive oil/lemon flush.
