Dr. Blais said that there was no sign of degradation on my implants. However, what made me sick was the abscesses (numerous abscessess) in the capsule. This is what made me sick. I believe that the infection started from both stress and the intolerance to the chemicals that make up the implants. Although none of it broke down, it still caused problems. I just think these things are a ticking time bomb for anyone. They don't have to rupture, leak or start breaking down for you to get sick. I think that just having a foreign object in the body combined with stress and in some cases no stress is needed, these things are just killers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an MRI two years before explant. I just received the report the other day. Dr. Blais said that the doctor that performed the MRI should have seen these abscesses. My doctor, in he report, diagnosed them as numerous cysts. I'm wondering how you can mistake an abscess for a cyst? Do they really look the same on an MRI scan? I would think not!

It would be really hard to determine when that point of shell degradation would begin for each person. I have a feeling it is different depending on our specific body conditions. For instance, some people can wear nickel jewelry and be just fine with it. No problems. However, I absolutely cannot wear nickel jewelry at all. It turns my skin black, I get red itchy bumps where it touches my skin, and if I continue to wear it, my skin breaks out into a weeping, red sore mess. I turn silver jewelry into dull tarnished colors. It's the same way with my earrings. I absolutely must have 14 K gold earrings. Otherwise, any other metal makes my ear lobes first turn hot, then red and inflamed and itchy.Obviously, my body is reacting to the metals, and the contact either eats away at the metals,

or the metals eat away at me. With metals in the implants, I can only wonder if that type of reaction is coming into play at all.Like I said, it would seem to me that shell degradation occurs at different rates in different people, depending on their immune system, so it seems it would be nearly impossible to predict when the shell is actually degrading, if at all!> > I don't know....I think replacing them regularly> > would lead to new > > doses of chemicals each time!
