Sound hyper to you? Hi -in-love-with Fabian!! Let me tell you this for comparison: right before I made the switch to natural thyroid, and was still on Levoxyl, I suddenly stopped converting T4 to T3. My free T4 got slightly higher than yours!! It wasn't exactly that I was hyper---my free T3 was miserably low, but my T4 was up there because of the lack of conversion. I, too, instinctively knew to stop my Levoxyl a few days, and resumed until I had my appointment and made the fabulous switch to Armour. Guest guest
Janie, This is exactly what I am thinking, and looking back over the last 6 months that I have been on this stuff, it seems I do not tolerate it very well. I have the OD symtoms without technically being OD'ed, if that makes any sense. I have read a few articles by doctors where some people do not tolerate the synthetic hormones very well at all. Nausea, anxiety, heart rate, and the sweating. These are things that you are supposed to report to your doctor if they happen while on the meds...and I have told them over and over. I don't even know if going back on at .025 is going to help because after 4 weeks on that dose was when I went to the hospital with rapid heartbeat, and they RAISED my dose based on my TSH and free T4. That was in October and my TSH was 8 and my Ft4 was .98. But all things i have learned shows its your BODY that matters not the numbers. I cannot figure out how to get through till May. They want to say that all my symptoms are from anxiety, but where did the anxiety come from?? My heart starts to pound and THEN I become anxious, not the other way around. I am nauseated and THEN become anxious, you see what I am saying? I am interested to know my FT3, and can't wait for the results. And sooner or later I will have the cortisol...wonder what the hold up is on that? After 6 days Levoxyl free, my pulse this morning is 88, and that's after treating myself to a saturday morning cup of coffee! Last week after a cup of coffee it was 106. Other than the fact that I woke this morning to pain in my shoulder and neck, I don't feel all that bad. as for the pain, my next appt to be adjusted by the man is tuesday. He is in one office tues and thurs (the one closest to me) and his other office (about 35 minute away) Mon wed fri. So, if I get bad I can go there monday a little early. Otherise I am going to hang in there. It will be a while before I will be able to hold an adjustment for more than a day, I am sure. I will decide tomorrow-or tonight-whether or not to start a smaller dose in the morning, or I may give myself a few more days to see what happens. I know I am not so hypo that it is going to hurt me to be off it for a little while...and I think it may actually be harming more than helping. I have never felt even close to better on this med. right before I made the switch to natural thyroid, and was still on > Levoxyl, I suddenly stopped converting T4 to T3.
