Country legend Dolly Parton is having her famous breasts reduced after suffering 30 years of excruciating back pain. The I Will always Love You singer had silicone implants in both her twenties and her thirties, but doctors have now told the 58-year-old star her enormous double-D bust will have to be reduced to relieve the crippling pressure on her back and shoulders. She admits: " My boobs are killing me - and I don't know if I can stand the pain any longer. " My boobs have been a trademark for me - but I've paid one hell of a price

Right, I've read those. When I received the most recent newsletter from Ilena and Dolly Parton was listed as 'recently explanted', I've not seen anything to coorborate that assertion. The Hello! interview I transcribed in my earlier post is from Jan/2005. These other stories/quotes from Dolly Parton are older than the Hello! interview. Guest guest
LOL ... last fall seems like " recently " to me ... I think there was also a People Magazine that talked about her explant around the same time as those two articles made the news ... Interesting huh? I tend to believe she removed them ... I recall hearing in the past that she actually had 'stacked' implants ... two on each side. Thanks for that recent article. Guest guest
How do we know she isn't experiencing some illness, but chooses to downplay it? That is a possibility. I think many celebrities choose to stay silent to prevent sabatoging their careers, or blame something else for their problems. I've heard quite a few stories coming out of Hollywood that would point to symptoms of illness from implants but are blamed on other things. Nobody wants to point the finger at implants, like it is some sacred cow or something..it seems it has been that way for years. Thank God for " In the KNOW " and the actresses who have been brave enough to speak out in that organization! Guest guest
I don't know....I think replacing them regularly would lead to new doses of chemicals each time! If the metals and other chemicals are leaching out over time as the shell degrades, it would seem to me that with each new implant, that would mean starting out all over again with another full load of toxic chemicals. Guest guest
This is soooo true! Lea, you've addressed an important aspect of this illness. And in fact, we even hear this on this group. I have heard many women say that they are not having any trouble with the implants. But then they will admit that they have had certain health issues, all of which are consistent with implant related illness. It is almost an afterthought, or a tangent to the original conversation, as a " by the way " sort of thought. I am sure it is quite difficult to draw any connection between implants and illness when women are pre-programmed into thinking that implants are safe. That is the only explanation I can give as to why women continue to say that implants aren't causing them any problems, when in fact, they have lots of health problems. Maybe it is true that the implants themselves are not causing problems, as in not ruptured, not leaking, not deflated, not hurting, not shifting, not uncomfortable. But it can be a stark reality that the implants have started a hellish immune system dysfunction that is leading to a nightmare with autoimmune disease, joint pain, fibromyalgia and God knows what other health related problems. I find it very hard to believe that any woman can carry breast implants for 20-25 years or more and not be experiencing some type of health issue that the implants may be exacerbating, if not causing. But then, there are many women that would rather die than to give up their implants. It is a silent epidemic, as you have said, but I hope that we are making progress toward changing this very ugly and sad situation. Guest guest
It would be really hard to determine when that point of shell degradation would begin for each person. I have a feeling it is different depending on our specific body conditions. For instance, some people can wear nickel jewelry and be just fine with it. No problems. However, I absolutely cannot wear nickel jewelry at all. It turns my skin black, I get red itchy bumps where it touches my skin, and if I continue to wear it, my skin breaks out into a weeping, red sore mess. I turn silver jewelry into dull tarnished colors. It's the same way with my earrings. I absolutely must have 14 K gold earrings. Otherwise, any other metal makes my ear lobes first turn hot, then red and inflamed and itchy. Obviously, my body is reacting to the metals, and the contact either eats away at the metals, or the metals eat away at me. With metals in the implants, I can only wonder if that type of reaction is coming into play at all. Like I said, it would seem to me that shell degradation occurs at different rates in different people, depending on their immune system, so it seems it would be nearly impossible to predict when the shell is actually degrading, if at all! > > I don't know....I think replacing them regularly > > would lead to new > > doses of chemicals each time!
