Hi Ellie. There isn't an actual Colorado Thyroid Group, as of yet. I

am simply the designated State of Colorado Chairman to head support

groups that may want to form, plus my phone number is made available

so that Colorado residents can call or email if they are seeking

help. I also represent the state for better treatment. It's all in

its infancy, but moving along steadily!!

The American Thyroid Patient's group is currently for state

chairmans. It's a Yahoo group that is working to start some kind of

nationwide advocacy and education for proper treatment of thyroid

issues.

Hi Janie,

No, it didn't sound strange, I just thought I was missing out on

something! :) So, next time I get my blood work done, I probably

should wait until 2 hours after I've taken my Armour so that I get an

optimal T3 reading. Am I understanding this correctly? What a neat

thing to do, though - testing the way you did. You are such a smart

gal!

How much money do I need to send you??? :o)

Actually, some docs think you shouldn't test right after you have

taken your Armour. But I say WHY not?? I'd like to know where I am

getting after I take it. I also found it interesting where I was

after I had NOT taken my Armour.

..

I read something that might pertain to this once... it has to do with an

inflammation of the cartilage between the ribs..... it causes discomfort

and pain when the rib cage/chest can't expand properly because of the

inflammation... it's another one of those great hypo symptoms that we're

supposed to deal with.. I can't remember the name of it though... I

wonder if someone else does?

I've been told that Osteo-Biflex (and it's generics) are supposed to be

helpful with that.. it seems to have helped me....

> So, even with light work or simply things, you would get palps and

fast heart rate and have to rest, right? Any chest pain or pressure

or tightness?

It was the most awful reaction you could possibly get. After I did

anything strenous, or prolonged, my heart would not go back to its

resting state. It would continue to beat, and would feel like it was

POUNDING. No pain or crushing feeling. I would become increasingly

more fatigued. My muscles would be HOT. When I would collapse into

bed, my heart pounding would be hard and loud. I would sweat

profusely because I was so hot. And the fatigue---it was the

absolute most AWFUL fatigue you can imagine. Fatigue so bad that I

couldn't sleep. AWFUL. When I would finally fall to sleep, and wake

up the next morning, I would feel like someone through me against

the wall.

It is similar to Dysautonomia, and what I called exercise-induced

dysautonomia. Even being in the hot sun would produce the same

effect. 17 years of this while being treated with Synthroid, then

Levoxyl.

And all the above got worse as I neared pre-menopause. Before, it

was only prolonged or intense activity that did it. Two years ago,

it took much less to get it.

It all totally ended when I switched to Armour.

OK...like sometimes it seems like my breast bone will " crack " like a joint

and give my whole body relief...I don't have pain INSIDE my chest...its like

outside under the skin...does this make sense?

Okay,,,, no wonder my PA wasn't happy with my TSH at 0.28. What did

your doc say when you said you'd sign a release?

Zina

<<<ANDDDDD, GET THIS!!! My Top Doc NP expressed concern about my TSH

getting as low as it did before when I had tried the extra 1/4 grain

before (.042). I told her that my TSH was NOT important---it was my

free T3 and any side effects that were important. And guess what she

admitted???????? That the reason she and other medical professionals

have to pay attention to the TSH is that once it gets below a

certain level, they become suspectible to lawsuits and/or dismissals

by their medical society!!! (dismissal is not the right word, but I

think you know what I am referring to---what is that word??)

I told her I would sign a form taking away her liability, for

heavens sakes. This is VERY important information to know when you

visit a doc.>>>

ROTFLOL - Rubbing hormone cream on Janie's fish tank - I've heard it

all now! LOL

Zina

in CO and I was putting my hormone cream in your fish tank. Then you

went off somewhere and a horse came walking down the hall. (I am
