Guest guest
Awesome post Rogene! Love, Anita ~ DC Conspiracy Conspire literally means, "to breathe together" and"to act in harmony." Aren't those definitions much better? Conspiring we are. We must. For every person and penny we have working on thiscause, "they" have 1000 covering up the truth andswaying the media and he public. It's truly, now . . . or now. After hearing rumblings from a number of you on arecent CBS Saturday Morning program with Dr. BernadineHealy, I did a little research on this incrediblypowerful woman. She speaks the total party line on how safe implantsare, and what a mistake it was to remove them from themarket in 1992. Ad nauseum. Well, it appears that Dr.Healy, former head of the NIH, is the only woman BoardMember of Medtronics, silicone device manufacturer. She also is a Trustee of the Hudson Organization, onthe board with the Burston Marstellar CEO andPresident. She is out and about, here, there and everywhere, spreading the gospel of the manufacturers, MarciaAngell (redundant) and the IRG. Very dangerous to thewomen of the world. We can not allow the conclusions coming from theNational Academy of Sciences, Institute of Medicine,in July, 1999, to be as the travesty of the"Independent Research Group" published in Britain lastmonth. Their super slick 36 page booklet: Silicone GelBreast Implants: The Report of the Independent ReviewGroup, reads like a marketing piece for the plasticsurgeons. What a coincidence. It is. The British Plastic Surgeons have obviously figuredout they have a great, lucrative market luringAmerican girls to Britain where silicone gel flows asfreely as motor oil. I just saw a ish TV Frontline Program where Dr. Souter, Head of Plastics at his ishHospital, was declaring a "problem" rate of well under5%. Our Scots sister, Margo Cameron, had done a greatjob getting this filmed, and Dr. Garry was interviewedand explained his study published last year in therespected British medical journal, The Lancet. At the conference, many of "their" speakers used thisIRG propaganda as back up to their conclusions. We had around 80 speakers in the two days, and Ienjoyed conversations with probably 200 others. It wasfascinating. Overload of info, though, which I'm stillprocessing. "They" were so obvious. During breaks, they wouldhuddle together ~ Noel Rose, Lyin' Lizzie Connell,Leroy Young, Brent, Rosemary Locke (Y-ME),Jack Fisher and assorted defense attorneys lookingvery smug and proud. Scheming. Scamming. Their clumps were best described by Dr. Garry aslooking like granulomas. I enjoyed eavesdropping on them eavesdropping on us.As Friday came to a close, however, their smugnesslifted and it appeared obvious that the worms wereturning. The women were heard! Our doctors were socredible. Theirs so dismissive. They looked much lessself assured. For now, I'll give a few of my favoritemoments: *** Dr. Pierre Blais, waving a baggy with a salineimplant, so black with fungus and mold, that we couldsee it clearly half way back in the audience. *** Dr. Deapen, practically endorsing siliconeimplants to "prevent" breast cancer. *** Our Lyndsy Frey, out of frustration beyond words,"going off" on the Dow Dudes (there for damagecontrol) after lunch on Wednesday. With CNN camerasrolling, she emotionally told of her humiliatingexperience with the Dow attorneys during herdeposition in May, 95. She explained ~ quite emphatically ~ how they tauntedher and asked sexual questions regarding theelectronic stimulator in her groin damaged bymigrating silicone. How Dow sleazed into bankruptcyimmediately before her trial was to start. And how herlife and health have gone downhill ever since. When the Dow Doctor came to speak only moments later,he was visibly and audibly shaken. Lyndsy is havingher implants finally removed in the upcoming weeks. Italso appears that some news programs have picked upher story. Although Lyndsy's approach may have been less than"professional" ~ it sure got the Committee's attentionand changed the energy closer to the reality of howsilicone reacts in a body. She has my love and prayersand asks for yours. (Sea2322@...) *** Mentor Corp was there in full force bragging oftheir 5 year "studies." Not very convincing for alifetime medical device. Certainly rang hollow. When our Kim Hoffman spoke, however, it became clearto all, including the FDA woman I was sitting with, that the Mentor "study" was fixed. Kim beautifully explained how after multiple ruptures, her PS refused to report them to Mentor. Then Mentorwouldn't accept her reporting ~ requiring the damagingevidence to be submitted by a doctor ~ who wouldn't. It was awesome. Very revealing. The FDA woman wasclear that they would look at Mentor and their resultseven more closely now. ***Jackie Strange was wonderfulas she shared her personal story of being formerDeputy Postmaster General and other prestigiousposiions, then becoming crippled from her implants. *** The Dr. Epstein Explosion. She's an OB/GYN(I believe) who has been riding Jama Russano and DrLevine for four years publicly and in print. Noexception here. She emphatically told our NikkiKaufman, that she was very sorry her daughter was ill,but that her "implants had NOTHING to do with it."Wonder what scientific data she was using!? Stranger still was 's history with silicone.Apparently her PS husband, illegally injected siliconeinto a patient's lips. The patient or her heir (Iforget if she survived or not) was suing 'shusband and he committed suicide. More siliconedevastation. obviously is out of control and ona mission. She "knows" silicone is safe to secondgenerations. Obviously "pure" science. *** The Candlelite Vigil was very moving and almosttoo real. Many photos. Many tears. As the list of ourdeparted silicone sisters was read, many of us brokedown. Uneeda told of losing 8 women in her supportgroup in around a year. Our mighty opposition, though crumbling, will not gotenderly into the nite. They will fight us tooth andnail. With all they have, which is plenty. They aren't giving up. We've already seen a slew of"Opinions" and Editorials for their side. Our doctorswill surely be attacked and pulled apart withferocity. We will be fought on every front. Here on the net isno exception. Your voices are being heard however, and we can changethings if we keep the pressure on The PlasticSurgeon's Education Fund (PSEF) ~ the same group whopurchased the Mayo and Harvard teeny, short, flawed, skewed, biased studies, are on a huge marketingcampaign. The PS's are touting the "safety" of saline just asthey touted the "safety" of gel a few years back. Theywant the business. That's why we are seeing so manymagazine and newspaper articles on the resurrgeance ofimplants. I'll close with this anecdote. Struck up a conversation on the plane with a gentlemanwhose ex still had her implants, and "loved them, absolutely no problems whatsoever." When I later askedhim what she did for a living, he said she couldn'twork, and had been on disability, for chronic fatiguefor the last two years. Guest guest
Anita, You can thank Lea for the post . . . she forwarded it to me! What makes me sick is that, after all these years, we're still struggling to get the truth out. As some of the women in D.C. expressed, it's like having a nightmare that never ends! Guest guest
Honey, you are welcome, but I will not take the credit....someone gave it to me. We had so many deadly documents on the old old computer. Compusmart could only go back so far and we have lost some important documents. We have lost a lot from Walt Monger who was one of the first people to help us. I still have to transfer many documents from the old computer to this one. Guest guest
Ilena, I don't think many of the women here realize how much blood, sweat and tears you've put into this cause! Many of the support groups got their start with people you brought to this cause. You efforts haven't gone unnoticed by those keep implants on the market though! Thank you so much dear!
