Guest guest
Yes, I am in a pretty big city - Indianapolis. There are about 1,000,000 people so you would think that there would be one doctor! Do you or anyone else know how the Broda test differs from the Smoky Mountain test? I just called Smoky to find out how much the test costs and got some lady with the personality of a rock. But I guess all I need is for hubby to call or to fax a prescription and the cost is $106 or $118 depending on how your doctor orders it. It shows DHEA and cortisol levels at 4 different times via a saliva test. How much was the Broda test and what all does it test for?

It goes all the way to Belgium for testing. It measures a bunch of stuff but I don't see DHEA on the list. It says it measures 17-hydrocorticosteroid and I think that is cortisol but not sure. Where did I put my physiology book?....

Guest guest
Well, how do I get the $400 version?! My paper says $950! That is a huge difference!
Guest guest
I did the 24 hr urine test and the results totally shocked me. My thyroid hormones were very high and my adrenal and sex hormones were very low. Now I am trying to get balanced, having a bit of difficulty. I have an appt. with doc next week. For sure I will let you all know what I figure out. I will post the test results when I find them! sorry you didn't get a doc name in your area. Are you in a big city? Gracia As I mentioned, I got my packet from Broda and they mention a 24 hour urine test for hormonal imbalances. Has anyone tried this and was it helpful? What exactly were your free's, plus ranges? And where were your adrenal and sex hormone numbers? And how are you getting balanced? As for the barnes test...she doesn't use that but she uses basal body temp and has some barnes info at her center...but I think that one is urine if I am not mistaken. Guest guest
Yes, that is cortisol. But the reason to measure DHEA with cortisol is that if one is high and the other is low, that means damage or stress to a specific part of the gland, if both are low or high, that can mean stress to the entire gland...which is important. > > , I am doing the Smoky test this week with my new doc, its $118 because > > the cost of the kit is included. Guest guest
Accchhhhh the urine test doesn't go to Belgium, it goes to AAL lab in California, and costs $400. I wonder why they have that in there? Guest guest
I posted all the high and low results on thyroid You didn't see it? I am not sure where the frigging test is now I will look for it....... The BB test is supposed to be the most accurate and tests a zillion things. Right now I am taking 5mg tri-est plus 150mg progesterone 2X a day (!!!!!!!!), androstenedion spray every other day, 50mg 7-keto DHEA, 90mg Armour but might try to reduce it! Guest guest
I think you get it from a Broda doc. Maybe you could call AAL lab and ask them. I will post the number tomorrow. I can't find anything here! Gracia Well, how do I get the $400 version?! My paper says $950! That is a huge difference!
