Guest guest
Two weeks ago I switched from using topical providone iodine on my breasts to topical Lugol's solution on my breasts. I thought that the providone iodine was helping with breast tenderness quite a bit especially when I accidentally applied too much topical estradiol but I still had some intermittent discomfort since trying to keep my estradiol a little higher to reduce low estrogen symptoms. Since switching to Lugol's solution, all of my breast tenderness seems to be completely gone. Topical Lugol's solution seems to be much more effective for me than providone iodine for breast tenderness. This week I have not been able to use breast sensations/tenderness as an indication that I used too much estrogen. I have not had any breast issues at all even though I am sure that I used too much estrogen on more than one occasion. I hope that my breast issues continue to be a thing of the past; I just wish that I knew of this ten years ago when I used to have breast pain for two weeks out of the month. I bought the Lugol's to use orally but I had some intestinal cramping at the beginning when I tried it so I decided to try it topically instead. I am only using a few drops per breast so my one once bottle should last quite a wile. I am using a glove for application because Lugol's really seems to stain more than providone iodine. I have been trying to avoid the nipple area because the Lugol's seemed to have caused some peeling of that area which I do not care for. I take a shower every morning and each morning I have a very light stain remaining from the Lugol's. I tried a couple of drops of oral Lugol's yesterday without any cramping so I am hoping that the cramping I had at the beginning was from something else. Guest guest
Kathy, many of the gals I know who take Lugol's rather than Iodoral take 4 drops in a glass of orange juice twice a day and have reported no stomach upset. I take 2 tabs of Iodoral twice a day and it's completely ended all breast pain. I have/had fibrocystic breasts. I decided to go up to 4 drops twice a day and see what happens. I did not paint my breasts today which was really nice because it is so messy. What is the purpose of the orange juice? I normally do not drink juice. I have been taking the Lugol's in a small amount of water in a shot glass and chasing it with a cup of regular water; I have not been having any more issues with abdominal cramping. I have been lurking on the iodine group and reading their files but iodine is still confusing to me. Kathy
Guest guest
Normally around 1000-2000mg Vit C should be taken with Lugols/Iodoral. This helps it work better...(info in links). Orange juice can work. Here is a website that explains iodine deficiency: http://www.laurapower.com/iodinedeficiency.htm I have a lot of iodine links. Some are a bit over whelming, but still informative. The ones with the asterisks are a bit more " user friendly " , reading-wise. Here they are: http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/opt_Research_I.shtml http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/IOD-09/IOD_09.htm http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/IOD-02/IOD_02.htm http://www.vrp.com/art/1860.asp * http://www.quackcenter.com/ideficiency.html * http://www.lewrockwell.com/miller/miller20.html http://www.iodine4health.com * http://www.jcrows.com/iodine.html http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/loadTest.htm http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading.html Sam :-D k9gang@... > Hi Sam, > > Thank you for that information about the Lugol's.
