It was Roby who first posed the idea of adrenaline induced hair loss to me.... I need to find some information on this. Another thing that is interesting is epinephrine use in dental surgery and other surgeries.... epinephrine is the bodies strongest form of adrenaline. Many women talk about hair loss after dental surgery. It never made sense to me until this connection became clear. epinephrine (adrenaline) is the body's most potent stimulant of the sympathetic nervous system. Through its action on alpha and beta-adrenergic receptors, its effects include increased heart rate and force of contraction, elevation of blood pressure, relaxation of bronchiolar and intestinal smooth muscle, glycogenolysis, lipolysis and increased oxygen demand. When used as a drug, epinephrine can cause fear, anxiety, restlessness, pounding headaches, tremors, weakness, respiratory difficulty and palpitations. More serious reactions, including cardiac arrythmias, have been reported.1 In addition; adrenaline can cause drug interactions with a number of commonly used medications, most notably beta-blockers -Dr. Bernstein Roby says to let the cortisol do the work. Schwartzbien in Transition has a lot of info on all the hormones. Roby strongly suggested I stop traveling for awhile to get my adrenaline under control. He asked if my hair falls out more when we travel, and the answer is yes. If you knew me you would not think I had adrenaline " energy " . Generally I'm unruffled. Recently I gave up my morning cup of coffee and am working to let go of ice tea. Also, Roby claims there can be adrenaline allergies too. These usually manifest as anxiety, panic and nervousness. For this the same desensitization protocol is prescribed. E http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/growhair/
Guest guest
Boy, do I want to go see Roby. I'm thinking I have adrenaline sensitivities. I have MVP, but was not diagnosed with it until my first round of P disaster 8 years ago. I know there is a correlation from that time to know, from the P, causing some sort of imbalance, which caused the anxiety, which made the MVP to show up (I was supposedly born with the prolapse valve?) then the cancer, hyst, 7 years of always "feeling" my heartbeat, pounding heart, etc, then the next round of P and then major anxiety again. Even though the anxiety is better (due to Valium) I still have the underlying shakiness, trembling inside, my heart still pounds with any kind of exertion. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and get my ass to TX. And I have always been an "anxious" type. I used to love the adrenaline rush. My drug of choices were always the speedy type. I have started back on coffee but I am going to stop again after reading this. Guest guest
Oh gee, gosh, ok, I gotta say something. Adrenalin and hair loss, etc etc etc.... um what say y'all about adrenal fatigue? AKA low cortesol? How about Iodine Deficiency???? What Liz was saying, screams to me " adrenal fatigue " - anxiety, poundy heart, shakiness, trembling, etc. Cancer screams iodine deficiency. HAIRLOSS comes from IODINE DEFICIENCY. Iodine deficiency causes most thyroid problems which in turn will affect the adrenals. PLEASE really really READ THIS: http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/IOD-09/IOD_09.htm How many of y'all have a had your Iodine Loading Test yet? http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading.html Sam (thyroid-less, ovary-less, Iodized, and Armour-ized) k9gang@... http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/IOD-09/IOD_09.htm http://72.148.194.153/iodine/body/body_frame.htm http://www.breastcancerchoices.org/loading.html http://www.altsupportthyroid.org/dt.php www.stopthethyroidmadness.com RE: adrenalin and hair loss Boy, do I want to go see Roby. Flax seeds and flax oil raise DHEAS and are of concern for women who don't want higher levels. In humans and hair the DHEA go androgenic which can contribute to hair loss.... so, with the horses you are saying that you give flax to shed off the winter hair. What happens if you DON'T feed the flax to the horses? And it sheds the old coat, but isn't a new softer hair grown from this process? They cause severe shedding in myself when I have them. > Organic > >>>>>>>Thank you for your kind response Lulu. Boy this hair loss (HL) has sent me scurrying to cover every base. re: parasites. I don't do organic much, will if it's a choice. I've given up all the " baddies " in my diet. No sugar. Only sugar is in some whole fruit. Recently I gave up my morning coffee per Roby's request to halt the adrenal flooding and mindlessly did an unconscious swap for some Odwala fruit juices. Within days I had a bladder infection. Just knew the fruit juice sugar fed the yeasts and parasites. I was shocked. I only had a juice a day for 5 days, no more. Don't eat grains either. I'll give all of this some thought. Don't think I can do the raw garlic within my current relationship here, although sometimes I am searching for some viable ways to create some distance... lol. How about a capsule form? There must be a close alternative? Maybe I can grind up the garlic and put it in a capsule myself? Will give this some thought here. Recently I began some systemic enzymes. No loopiness, but some frequent trips to the . Thanks again for your thoughts and experiences.
