Hello...

I'm new here and joined because i am about to use DMSO for the first time

(topically) on my feet to see if I can get relief from the pain and inflammation

associated with neuromas.

I have a few questions I hope some people can answer which I've had no luck

finding in extensive Internet searches.

I bought 99.98% DMSO from lab because I wanted to try it at different

" strengths " by diluting it with various ratios of DMSO/water. My questions are:

1.) Since DMSO is so effective at penetrating the skin, should the water I use

be " sterile distilled water " purchased from a lab or medical supply or plain old

distilled water available at most stores. I see Janet commented on another BBS

that the water in RIMSO-50 is not you garden variety distilled water. So this

opened a Pandora's Box of confusion as there are so many types of " purified "

water out there I don't know what to do.

2.) If sterile water is advisable, my research reveals it doesn't stay sterile

for long but begins to degrade as soon as it is exposed to air and is

recommended to be used immediately and to discard the rest.

3.) If sterile water becomes degraded, how is it that all the 70/30 solutions of

DSMO available (including at labs) say they have a shelf life of up to 5

years??

Thanks for info you can provide to enlighten me on this.
