 welcome to the stills family as that is what we are here a family. sorry you

were placed in a way that made you look for us but mighty glad you found us

also.

 you sound about like me in ways I also will be 53 this year and have two kids

of my own but only one grandchild. I have been married now for about 7 years

this time and was with my ex for 26 years but she divorce me 2 years into life

with stills. I also had a great job I loved and was forced to leave it . I to am

trying to write a book but not on my life with stills but on my dads life and

also one on my own life so it will have stills in it but not as its main topic.

 I also love camping only not in a tent any more I need a soft bed and a warm

place . I also used to be an out door crazy nut who was gone hunting and fishing

at any chance I had.

I also was a driven person and very goal oriented and still always looking for

new challenges but not any more. still am a type A personality and whats funny

is most of us are that personality is seams .I do love your description of a hot

rod motor but no wheels that's Great just love it!

I have had stills now for about ten years and was living in Idaho when I was DX

but because of the divorce I was forced to move back to California were I had

family to start life over again as for 9 months I had no income and no money at

all as the ex did a good job cleaning my clock. What she did not know is all she

did was help me have a clean new start for the most part. so disabled 43 and

broke I restarted life. went from homeless to having my own place again to being

very happily married to my sole mate and for that I thank stills for her and

this new life I am living now.

I here ya about the pain as I was that was at the start and am almost back there

again right now because of emotional stress and health stress from my stills the

emotional is from none stills things but stress is stress.

I will say one thing and it is some thing I do wish I would have done for my

self and my family way back when and that is have gotten some counseling both as

a family and as my self when I was first DX with stills as it changes life and

how we look at it not only us with stills but also our loved ones that live with

us also. I can not say that it would have helped in my case of the divorce but

24 years of a good marriage makes me believe it may have . I will say and its

hard to believe stills is not all bad as when the day come you fully except it

as a part of your life you then can even see some good things that stills can

bring into your life as I have . I have a great wife now that with out stills I

most likely would never have meet. I can say I have also been given many more

wonderful and insightful things from stills also and yes I have been given all

the other things that any one from the start can see and feel from stills also.

so with that welcome to this family and remember like any family we are just as

dysfunctional but we just do it in a better way and with a lot of understanding

because almost all of us have really been there and done that

so with that I will be looking forward to reading your post and ask all you want

to know but just make sure you really want to know the answer as some one here

is most likely bound to let ya know it
