Hi, my name is and I have a 4 1/2 yr old son (Shaun) with autism. I'm writing today to ask for recommendations for an eye doctor. He has one eye that has wandered for a couple of years now and I would like to find an eye doctor to have him checked out. I also would appreciate a recommendations for a pediatrician in the Coral Springs, FL area.

Hi ,

We use Dr. Poliak in Margate as our Opthalmologist. He has a great

manner. As a matter of fact, we saw him yesterday. My son has also

been referred to Dr. Harey Mazer in Weston regarding vision therapy. My

niece had the therapy and is doing wonderfully. My son was not

recommended upon our last appointment, due to his age (3.5 years). We

will return to see him within 6 months of our initial appointment. Hope

We found a great eye Doctor, although he is in the Hollywood area. Maybe he can refer you to someone closer to your area. His name is Dr. Dorfman and the number is . Also when I was in the Coconut Creek area I used Dr. Cotler as my son's Ped. He doesn't know alot about autism, but He's open to you telling him what's up and he's very kind. He's in the shopping center on the corner of Wiles Road and University. Pediatric Associates. The number is . Hope this helps.

We bring our son to a pediatric practice in Tamarac. There are about 11

doctors there and they are all terrific. The number is 722-0300. We have

been going there for years and are very happy. Hope this has helped.

My husband is a retired ophthalmologist who practiced in Coral Springs

for approximately twenty years. My son (17) and I now go to , M.

D. in Coconut Creek on Sample Road; we find him very knowledgeable and

friendly. His office manager, Avy, was my husband's office manager for much

of his practice.

I had Strabismus surgery as a child and understand the importance of

confidence in your eye surgeon.

You could call and speak to Avy, explaining about your situation.

Tell her that I told you to speak to her.
