I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced the following:

Sudden onset deep buzzing in head

Headache top front of head

Inability to speak

Inability to stand

Inability to control severe leg jerking both legs

Inability to keep eyes open

Difficulty breathing normally, difficulty taking a deep breath, O2 did not help.

Starting with intervals of severe reaction then clarity, repeating every few

minutes and eventually after five hours tapering off and resolving on its on. I

was aware of what was happening during the events but could not control them,

then would have normal control briefly, towards the end it would be a event

every 15 minutes.

This happened to me last Sat morning. I had , had a heart cath the prior Wed.

but every possible test was done and there was no cardiac correlation. Brain

MRI was negative.

I had been doing pretty well prior to this.

I plan to ask TCI to review the MRI, our local staff have no experience with

Chiari.

1998 Decompression for Chiari, no duraplasty

2000 Decompression for Chiari, scar tissue obstructed CSF flow, Dura patch used

You're welcome. I was an RN that specialized in strokes and brain bleeds,

believe it or not. Yours isn't the typical case but sounded close enough to be

worried about it. The brain is an odd thing, especially when you start to mess

with the brain stem. That's what it sounds like to me. The brain stem controls

all the " automatic " things our bodies do. When there is pressure on it, it

starts to malfunction. Did you happen to move your head or neck in an odd way

that may have put undue pressure on it? Possibly overdo it that day? There are

a hundred million things that could have happened. Pretty well impossible to

find out what happened, i'm afraid...

Thanks , I guess I need to amend my post to say that I did go to the ER

immediately, my husband quickly gave me an aspirin, brought my pillow, and med's

with us. It's nice to know that he is prepared, but hope we don't need to be

again anytime soon. I had every test know to rule out heart and brain bleeds.

Thanks for your concern.

I'd be looking into and thinking stroke or at least a TIA (transient ischemic

attack, or " mini stroke " ). I'd also be getting myself to the ER as fast as my

little legs could carry me (or someone else getting me there).

Just my $0.02...
