Hi Madeleen,

long time no speak (from me), I have been running behind for the last 3 months - stresssss (all the time). I happen to take about the same amount of armour, cortef and 2-4 drops of iodine/day and have been coping okay!

Iodine is a powerful antiviral, aniti-bacterial, and Dr. Abrams (the iodine specialist for endocrine health) says that if you take iodine, you're protected from cancer a n y where in the body. I also don't have parasites anymore as long as I d o it.

My latest uterine scan shows that my (12mm thick) endometrial lining from last January shrank down to 4mm this (late) December 06. I have no cysts or vibrous tissue either.

I ascribe this to my Lugol's iodine-iodide solution 'regimen'.

(I only feel episodes of slight 'pinching' in my breast once in awhile, when I have forgotten to take iodine or have gone for a day or two without.)

My present blood tests show my total estrogens at 237 and my progesterone at 0.6, although I haven't taken any Progesterone since May 05, nor estradiol since September 05.

Just sharing my - I guess unusual - hormonal balancing act....

I am taking 500 mg Maca/day, and Schizandra (female rejuvenating Chinese herb) 1250mg/day, no Saw Palmetto in the last month, and feel fine but have to watch out for episodes of stress...

All my best wishes to everybody for a Happy 2007!

- and Love,

Charlotte

I'm wondering about E and thyroid. As I posted above to anne, I found I needed to lower my E and I think a part of my high E needs were compensatory for deficient thyroid. As Langer points out in Guardian of Health, we can have 4 different types of thyroid deficiency, one of which is normal numbers that don't tell of the failure of the cells to absorb it. They found that the basil body temperature is the best measure all around. This first, then right there with it, symptoms.

Eileen, when I started titrating my thyroid meds, I took temp for the longest time. Nuimom and I have had numerous discussions about E and thyroid and I do think that high(er) E slows down the thyroid. I became more thyroid deficient after starting WP (for newbies, I am no longer doing the WP protocol). If I remember correctly, I think Wiley herself had said early on that women using high E may need more thyroid support. What the exact mechanism is beyond me.

I cannot lower my E more than I already have. 6mg is the lowest and preferrably I do 9 mg/day. Otherwise I get brain fog, aches and pains, stomach issues like IBS. I also have to take that kind of dosing because recently I hurt my spine (bulging disk) moving boxes and it makes a big difference how much E I take. I actually put E right on my spine. If I forget I have much more pain.

At some point I was up to 3 grains, then my temp went way up and I started to feel hyper. Now that I am doing one Iodoral and iodine topically on the breast I have been lowering the Armour to 1 grain - that may be a little low for me, but adding 5 mg of Cortisol twice a day seems to work. I do think the Iodoral/iodine application plays a crucial role here as well.

My son was here for Xmas and had a flight out to Ithaca, NY from Seattle. The day he was to leave, he got this horrific stomach flu coming apart at both ends. We tried changing his airline ticket but the price was exorbitant. I suggested enemas ala Hulda with Lugol and he did it 3x and was able to pull himself together to take the all night Red-eye flight and other than being dead tired he had no other symptoms of the flu. Powerful stuff iodine!!!

Happy New Year!

Madeleen
