Guest guest
Hi Meg Don't panic about your grandchildren. The best advice I can give if you are really worried is to wear sterile gloves when handling him. Kissing and cuddling will not pass the c. diff on! I did plenty of that with my Dad and I have been ok. The correct antibiotics are vital but even then it takes sometime to improve. Drinking things like Actimel, probiotic drinks and tablets is also another good idea already suggested to you. I don't want to scare you but this really is a serious condition and doesn't always show up in stool samples, it took 2 tests to show up in Dad. Fortunately his GP already suspected the c. diff and put him on antibiotics as a precautionary measure. I don't know if I'm supposed to do this but my email address is dburnley@.... Please feel free to get in touch. Obviously this is not specifically an LBD issue so it would save everyone else having to read our posts!
