Hi Meg

Don't panic about your grandchildren. The best advice I can give if you

are really worried is to wear sterile gloves when handling him. Kissing

and cuddling will not pass the c. diff on! I did plenty of that with my

Dad and I have been ok. The correct antibiotics are vital but even then

it takes sometime to improve. Drinking things like Actimel, probiotic

drinks and tablets is also another good idea already suggested to you.

I don't want to scare you but this really is a serious condition and

doesn't always show up in stool samples, it took 2 tests to show up in

Dad. Fortunately his GP already suspected the c. diff and put him on

antibiotics as a precautionary measure.
