Guest guest
well, depends on what your infusion is? I have had Remicade and Rituxan... don't know what you are getting, do you know the name of the drug? Guest guest
Amy that would all depend on what med your going to be getting as there are a few meds for stills that are given with an IV. I know Remacaid is one of them and one I used . it was not bad at all did take a few hours and I slept threw it for the most part ( got to love Benadril) then I would go back at a set time a in weeks for the next treatment. I had to stop it after a time as I had a bad reaction to it and lost control of my Blood pressure for a bit to were even putting me in a ICU room did not raise it enough so they had to work getting it higher and then lower and then higher and then lower and finally some were they got it almost normal and set me free LOL so my docs now and I have decided we will not try that again and I am thankful and glad but sad also as I had high hopes it would be my magic med back then but that is because I was still looking for that magic cure and to get back to my so called normal life. now days looking back I know I was hoping for way to much then and that even if it worked it would never be the magic cure I wanted then a best it would have been a better shot at controlling stills then I had then but only to about what I have now threw other means. o well we grow and learn and that's all we can really hope fore after all. hugs The Redneck Marty G " I am having an out of money experience. Guest guest
Amy, Hi my name is Terri and I am new to the group. Sounds like you are describing a Rituxan infusion? Get one, then go back in 2 weeks to get another. You repeat this every 4-6 months depending on how long it controls your symptoms. Need to clarify what your doctor is going to give you before you go. Guest guest
Amy, What medication are you receiving? I had Rituxin infusions. I will also tell you that if you have bad veins and they have trouble getting IV's started you may want to inquire about a Port. I got my Port back in October 2006. While I no longer get infusions I still have the port. The only thing is I have to have it flushed with Saline every 4-6 weeks. But it is nice I arrange to have my regular blood work done at the same time I have to go in for a Port Flush. It has made my life much easier. It was someone from this group that told me about a port and I am grateful. Good luck! I hope that the medication works for you.
