Guest guest
I first posted to this site in Oct 2000 after moving home to help with my Mom's LBD and my Dad's lung cancer. I got busier and eventually didn't have time to check this site and hadn't been here in a LONG time. I was so shocked to see how many doctors are still prescribing Seroquel to help with hallucinations. I understand even the FDA issued a warning in 2005 about the dangers with LBD. Please see my post #843 to see what was previously written about this subject. My Mom was a complete zombie on this medication and we all feel like she was near death and would have died if left on it. We finally just resorted to no meds for the hallucinations. It took awhile, but eventually Mom got over the hallucinations and night disturbances. I realize there are people that can tolerate these meds but from our experience, you should have your doctor cease this med AT ONCE if you see an adverse reaction. At the time in 2001, I would never have imagined that Mom would still be alive in 2007! We know she is in late stages. At this point we just try to keep her comfortable and still care for her at home.
