Guest guest
If it was me I would change now Leon. Any time a doctor does not give me the care I need I have learned the hard way that the doctor does not change, I have to. It's just a matter of when I decide to. I don't think waiting is helping your case any. My opinion. good luck. Smiles to you From: leonghoward@... Subject: Question-- opinions wanted about changing Doctors I have applied for SSDI and waiting for hearing after 2 denials. I don't think my rheumatologist really supports my case. .But because I don't look that bad, I feel she thinks I'm OK. So should I wait or change now? Guest guest
Leon that's a hard call. are you using a lawyer for your hearing? if so I would ask them also. I do know my rheumatologist did not fully support me when I was going for SSDI even throw all my other docs did the crazy part I learned later was that the SSDI rheumatologist came out the strongest in my favor and his report was a part of my hearing just unknown to me and my lawyer at the time. when I did read it I wept as it made me sound like I could do nothing and as if I was almost on my death bed. sadly what he said back then has become more and more true as time has gone on. not my feelings but what I could and or should not do or be exposed to. first reading it it was like ya right how can any one live that way let alone think about having a job well today it has for the most part come true and I still think about working but I also know it is unrealistic also. now I have also changed many doctors from then to now and that includes rheumatologist. even had one tell me " whats that (meaning stills ) something you made up? " Needless to say I change him faster then you change shorts . If a doctor is so willing to say that to me he is most likely not going to treat me for my illness being he did not even know what it was and this was six months into seeing him! Okay I change shorts sooner and faster LMAO! how do I do it well I have to call my insurance r and tel them I want to and why then I also tell my internal doc or my PC DOC and ask them to help me find one that we both can work with. so far that has seamed to always work. now when to change that hard as no one but you can really make that call but were your at right now I do not know if I would but I would most likely have a sit down talk and ask them were they stand on my DX and the progression of my treatment and were they see it leading to and what part in it I should also play. I would also take that time to let them know that you expect and demand to be fully kept abreast of all plans that relate to you and any or all letters that are written in your behalf that support or do not support you and why each. now if working with a lawyer I would stress this to them also and ask them to find this info out and if the doctor is not supportive then why and what they think you should do to help but not hurt your case. best to ya The Redneck
