Guest guest
My Mother was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia. She was admitted about nine months previously with similar symptoms. Things were stabilized for her at the hospital with much vigilance from us. She returned home. The concern and question that I'd like some feedback regarding is as follows. They have tested her blood sugar and found it to be high. Insulin has been administered. Giving of insulin is a first for her. Her medications include albuterol, atrovent and solumetrol (sp). She is regularly on Namenda and risperdal. She is being weened from the solumetrol with orally administered prednisone. I am aware that medications and steroids especially, raise the blood sugar level. Has anyone experienced the blood sugar rising so dramatically? There is no history of diabetes? Any feedback is very much appreciated? Thank you
