Arachnoid cyst vs Syringomyelis

My recent (November 2011) MRI showed what they are calling an Arachnoid Cyst.

Apparently from the way the doctor said it, they don't really know what it is.

From my research on NINDS I believe it is most likely a syrinx. At least, my

symptoms are like those of a syrinx. I am looking for information to arm myself

before I see the doctor again... such as the problems associated with an

aracnoid cyst vs syringomyelia. Thanks to anyone who can help me with more

information.
