Guest guest
My hair is terribly thin becuz I have lost so much in 7 1/2 years. The way I have worn it is, natural and it is wavy, but only in response to humidity. If the weather is dry and arid, it is straight. I want it wavy, especially now because when it is flat, my hairloss really shows. I have found some mousse-type products over the last few years that help the wave in the winter. I do not dry it. I scrunch it now and then as it air dries and it would be wavy. But I will not use these products because of the ingredients in them. Do any ladies out there have hair like mine and they have found a natural product that they use to keep the moisture level high but not with nasty ingredients? I have not been using anything since I started to detoxify 4 years ago because I cannot find anything natural and I want to avoid chemicals every way that I can. But I will have to try to find something soon because my hair is so thin and I have had a few preview days to know what it is going to look like come wintertime and it is scary. Guest guest
You need to work on this from the inside out. Do you have thyroid problems?  Do your fingernails break, crack and peel? Is your skin dry? Are your heels cracked? If so, the herbs that nourish the thyroid are kelp, dulse and irish moss. Are your lips cracked in the corners? Is your tongue red and sore?  Do you have ridges on your fingernails? If so, you are probably vitamin/mineral deficient. You need some good B vitamins. Alfalfa is a super food that is nutritionally dense with vitamins and minerals. You can get kelp, dulse and alfalfa at vitacost.com. They also carry a product called Adrenal Fatigue Fighter that has therapeutic doses of B vitamins. Hi Lyn. This year I have the same problem..I did some research & mainly the most pointed to something wrong inside....I am not trying to scare you but this last January I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer..Before that my hair was thick & wavy.My nails were strong --now they are not.. If I were you I would have a complete med. check up.. Be careful getting the alfalfa. Make sure it is organic... Monsanto have the GM seed out there & the farmers around here that don't use it spray pesticides all over it...Lois
Guest guest
Lyn, you will need a manger for your alphalpha, just plop your head in and munch awhile. great sense of humor, the iodine will help, although it takes its sweet time, it is important to take the sides, C, B, Magnesium, Selenium, maybe boron as well. Something I like for my hair is castor oil, I take three cc's everyday, orally, half in the morning and half at night, put it on your hair, it really improves the size of the hair diameter. Makes me think I have more hair, then I really have, Leave it in overnight and shampoo out in the morning, I think it helps. Hang in there with the iodine, it has really improved my output of oil, baby shampoo no longer works, as it is not strong enough to cut through the oil, so I use something stronger. As a side note on my rather large doses of iodine, second thyroid test came in, all numbers are now perfect on 240mgs. My TSH was eight, but now it is one. Dock put a note on, " keep on doing whatever you are doing " . Of course I had not intention of changing anything. david lubbock tx. > ** > > > >>You need to work on this from the inside out. > > I've been working on this for four years, but nothing helps yet. > > > >>Do you have thyroid problems? > > Not that I know of, but I have never ONCE had a competent test run or > interpreted. Guest guest
I know things are wrong inside of me and I don't need a doctor to tell me that, nor do I want it, because I spent a lifetime on doctor visits and none of them could ever find anything wrong. But stupid, little ol' me could figure it out, once I started my own investigations, and I have been on the road to getting better ever since. I don't think anything I do to myself will make my hair wavy in the winter, tho. In fact, I never knew I had wavy hair until 15 years ago. I always thought it was straight. So I grew into waves somehow, even during the sickest years of my life. I started using Formula 1 in winter, which was a light spray. They changed their formula and so I had to find something else. I then found Garnier Curl Construct, which is a mousse. This worked, too, but I stopped using that when I started cleansing and looked at the label. In a word, YIKES! How can they get away with what they put into things? It's just beyond me totally. There has to be some herbal spray that will do what Formula 1 did for me and actually be healthy for my hair. I just haven't known where to look to find it. > Hi Lyn. Guest guest
What I'm about to write isn't a statement of fact, but a question. Being male and suffering Male Pattern Baldness since about half a lifetime ago, I tried many things to halt/slow loss. I even took part in some groups that pooled money to have laboratories formulate for us some new fangled drugs that weren't available commercially (very expensive), and although not really successful, it did create vellous hairs (pale transparent thin short hairs). This stuck in my mind for a while then I dismissed it. Lately I've been thinking about enzymes like Serapeptase, Lumbokinase etc, and wondering if the area where the hair comes through the skin is somehow scarred or crosslinked with fibrin or tissues that could be cleared away by enzymes, and that's why they were vellous hairs, because it was an extreme attempt to produce a hair that no longer had a way through the skin. I haven't bothered doing any actual experimentation as I'm older now and baldness isn't the life destroyer it was when I was 21 and I've kind of accepted it, but with all the other benefits of these enzymes that could well save your life, if it had a side benfit of improving hair then it might be worth at least a little investigation. Just throwing it out there, and not sure if there's any value in the idea. Guest guest
Gluten, Candida, Sugar, Yeast. It all boils down to the same thing. It's just a fungal condition that is toxic to our bodies and if not checked, it grows unencumbered as we keep feeding it. That toxicity effects us all in different ways. So while I continue to work on the inside, and I am, I am looking for something to help my hair on the outside. I worked in the billing office of a hospital for 23 years and I got weary over the years of seeing my co-workers with issues never getting to the bottom of it with the doctor. Oh, how I wish I had known then what I know now. In a message dated 9/27/2011 11:38:00 A.M. Guest guest
Years ago we had a neighbor that was bald on the top of his head. Had been that way for as long as we knew him. One day I went over to visit him and--he had hair! Short fuzzy hair, new growth, all over the top where it had been bald. I asked him what he had done. He said his wife had bought one of those vibrating hair devices, like a comb that you ran over the head every day. He had been using it and sure enough--hair had started growing. Then, months later I went back to visit and--no hair. I again asked him what happened and he said using the comb every day was too much of a bother and he didn't care if he was bald or not. Then, another story--I went to see my beautician friend one day and she had a guy sitting in the chair and she was using this comb like device on his scalp. It too had short new growth. She said he had been bald but by using that device on him every day his hair was coming back. So--a lot of it could also be poor scalp circulation. I would think that some oral supplements that were known to be beneficial to hair, and then external application of a vibrating type device and perhaps along with some circulation herbs such as cayenne might, indeed, grow hair. I'd be using it both internally and externally to stimulate blood circulation there. And perhaps once you got beyond the baby fuzz stage you wouldn't need to use the device every day. Maybe once a week would do the trick. Samala,
Guest guest
Hmmmm. , I can't tell what your question is. You don't mention the names of the study or the enzymes, but I suppose your question is, have I done similar things. I don't take enzymes, but I have addressed that very issue this year. I make kombucha and kefir. The one other thing I have newly come across in my own journey in the last year or so is DHT blockers. My money is spent on this, and nothing has helped, but I keep going back to wondering if this would work. The reviews are very good and they make it for men and women. The product is Natrol Nuhair Regrowth for Men or Women. Sassydiscounts.com has it the cheapest that I have found, BUT you can only purchase with their credit card, and their card is only available in certain states and my state is not included. You can get Nuhair other places, too, but it is just more expensive. I have been taking iodine for several weeks, along with other antifungal tinctures, and the hair loss seems greatly reduced. But I cannot tell if that is just because I have lost all of my thick hairs and now only fine hairs are falling and maybe they don't fall out as easy. Because I still lose more than I wish I would lose when I wash my hair. I know I still have a fungal condition in my body because I have parasites that I can feel and they couldn't live in me if my body were healthy. So until I get my body's pH up, I am still going to have certain troubles. Lyn --------------------------------------------------- What I'm about to write isn't a statement of fact, but a question. Guest guest
I heard that chicken manure left on over night would restore hair. Guest guest
Do you have any idea what that device was called? I hadn't ever heard of such a thing. Though I've been told circulation is an important issue and I felt that brushing with a brush for styling, the kind that air can pass through and it does not tangle hair, would provide that circulation. But it never has made a difference. I once came across an infrared " brush. " It was not a brush at all. You were just to turn it on and pass it over your head for 15 min sessions. I did not see a change, but I do not have bald spots. My hair loss has been by grades. First my thicker hairs, then all my medium hairs and now my baby fine hairs are falling. I just supposed that it would only work on bald spots.
Guest guest
No, sorry. I saw it and it was a comb like device, not a brush looking thing at all. Just a comb with fat teeth, further apart than teeth in a real comb. They vibrated. The one in the beauty shop not only vibrated, but it had 2 sets of 'teeth' that slid past one another while vibrating. Thing is, this was before there were products with lasers or infrared built in. You would have many choices now--and I would think that either lasers or infrared would be helpful, but you certainly want the actual, physical vibration as this is what is going to stimulate circulation. Guest guest
I know I am behinde in reading my mail,,but I believe that a vinegar rinse on your head would kill any live active yeast or fungus ontop of the head...put a straight rinse on your head and wrap a towel and let set for as long as an hour if you can then shampoo and rinse with a quart of water with 1 cup vinegar after rinseing the soap out then use the vinegar water rinse,,,the spel will fade you want spel like a salad.. repeat in 3 days, if your hair is dry, put coconut oil on finger tips and massage head and brush hair ,, To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Wednesday, September 28, 2011 9:05 AM Subject: Re: Duz any1 hv hair like me? Guest guest
Sorry about that. The statement is ment to give instructions on using ACV (apple cider vinegar) on your head and let it stay for about 15 min. (it is a mild acid, some people can not tolerate it for a long period of time) then rinse it out and use a mild shampoo, some people also rinse there hair with 1cup of ACV in one quart of water after a shampoo. Repeat the vinger on your head for 15 min. 2 or 3 times a week..If your scalp or hair is dry use very small amounts of coconut oil to masage into scalp, brush hair.  I hope this is better for you. To: DimethylSulfoxide-DMSO Sent: Thursday, September 29, 2011 11:42 AM Subject: Re: Duz any1 hv hair like me?  Your post here does not make sense to me. Guest guest
I might play with that but I don't have high hopes because I used an acidic method to wash and rinse my hair before and it dried flat a lifeless. Maybe conditioner after the shampoo rinse will put enough moisture back in, but oil is too heavy. I have been trying to use oil for awhile, here and there, and I just can't get the amount right. Not even with brushing with a boar bristle brush. My hair is not dry. It is very healthy, so I just think oil is too much, especially now when it is so thin. >Sorry about that. Guest guest
I use extremly small amouts of cocnut oil, like 2 finger tips, I spread it on my hands, them my face, and then I run my hands only head and brush my hair,,,coconut oil is the only moisuriser I use on my body,,I have totlly natural hair, half gray, no hair dye, and I have to shampoo every other day,,,the acv does not dry out my hair, but it does dry my scalp some...so I do apply the coconut oil because I have to shampoo anyway... Guest guest
I guess I need to be clearer about this before I jump into it again. The one time I did it, I wanted to just see what it would do. I did not know anything at the time. So the result was my hair got dried out and flat. So I would have to do just the head soak and no more. Or else just rinse the shampoo with vinegar and the rest as normal. So what is something like this good for? As I am thinking, acidity cuts oil and soap and germs. But I don't have oily hair, and I do not put anything else on my hair but shampoo and conditioner. I do not use styling aids. I wash and go and tossle my hair as it dries naturally. Re: Duz any1 hv hair like me? Gluten, Candida, Sugar, Yeast. It all boils down to the same thing. Guest guest
OK. I do not have the itchies, so maybe this " remedy " will be unfruitful to me. My hair is very healthy and soft. Just very thin and getting thinner every day. I used to have the itchies and I would pick the brain of every stylist who would cut my hair when one finally was able to suggest a reason why. Because of conditioners and the build-up that they leave. So I stopped using conditioner--which I used because I felt that the itches meant my scalp was dry--and my scalp cleared up. I started using conditioner again, a few years after stopping, because I was told I should use this biotin shampoo/conditioner. It has not started to repeat the itchies and flakes, but I don't use it all the time, either. ----- Original Message ----- I use the ACV straight on my hair because sometimes my head itches and itches..and it is very oily the second day after a shampoo, after I use the ACV then everything is ok for me for about 2 weeks... Guest guest
I stopped using hair conditioner coz i discovered along with my friends and family that it caused our hair to fall off. I spray magnesium oil on my hair/scalp and massage it, then rinse a little. My hair looks healthy, it used to be almost all white, it is now more than 1/2 going back to my original hair color, light brown and dark brown, yes i have two tones of natural color. > > OK.
