Guest guest
Lynn, I have never heard of Estrogen making the P receptor more sensitive, but I think that happened to me. I took Bio Identical P for 25 years for PMS. I took a lot of it too. 200-800MG sublingual troches per day for 14 days a month. Once I started on T, and E2 at age 50, I kept lowering and lowering the P I took. It seems now, the various symptoms P used to cure, are caused by adding P. I now use very little P and a huge amount of E, and quite a bit of T. They all test very low on blood test still. My doc is OK with prescribing since I show no signs of overdose. We just don’t know why I run thru the hormones so fast. I think it could be low cholesterol. nne Yes, when progesterone severely suppresses estrogen, I got symptoms like this too. Biest has proved too weak for most women who need estrogen. Then when they take progesterone with it, the P symptoms/ how E symptoms get worse. Hair loss and joint pain are big too. I think estrogen can make the progesterone receptors more sensitive. So if you were taking a tiny bit of P early in perimenopause and were doing okay---and then later added E, the P receptors seem to take in way too much P. And you get sick. This is just my impression from several years of experimenting and listening to hundreds of first person experiences in this group. Dr. Formby might have more insight on this. L. Guest guest
Estrogen definitely prepares the Progesterone recptors to be more recepive. Dr. Uzzi Reiss talks about this in his book.nne Skoog wrote: Lynn, I have never heard of Estrogen making the P receptor more sensitive, but I think that happened to me.
