Hi Everyone, I know I haven't posted for a very long time, and for that I am so

sorry.I also am sorry I haven't been doing my job, which is in part greeting

newbies. So welcome everyone who is new, I am so glad you found us,but sorry it

was necessary to do so. For those who don't know me, my name is Elly and I live

in Michigan on Lake Huron, one of the great lakes. It is beautiful, but also

subject to a very long winter with a lot of snow! The cold really bothers me

now, more than ever.I got my Stills diagnosis when I was 42, I am now 64! It

hasn't been easy, which I am sure you all know.I have many other issues which I

think can be attributed to Stills. I have had two heart attacks, with a stent in

one artery,Diabetes, Fibromyalgia,I now have pretty much no feeling in my left

foot. I get many infections thanks to my fantastic lack of an immune system.I am

and have been on many meds, shots, pills etc.I think most of you know all about

that! I have been really sick this winter, with a super bug and 3 other

infections after that.I really haven't been in any kind of good health since

Thanksgiving! I sort of want to blame my age,but really know it's more than

likely Stills. I am so sorry so many of you are suffering so much. You can always

find someone to listen here. This group truly saved my life many times.Someone

actually understood what it feels like to lose everything you used to be able to

do without thinking about it. I think there is more hope all the time, including

much faster diagnosing and a larger variety of drugs available than there ever

used to be. I struggled with depression for a long time,I am a type A

personality and suddenly I was unable to do anything. Not being active was so

hard to learn to cope with., told me one of the reasons I was so sad was I

was mourning the loss of who I used to be! A very wise woman. I am still hopeful

for a remission, and I know it's a possibility and I pray for that every day.

I am so lucky in one respect,I have a very wonderful, loving, caring husband. We

will have been married 42 years on Tuesday.I also have 3 children who are all

fast approaching their 40's, and their spouses. We have 5 grandchildren 3 girls

ages 10,17,and 20.We have 2 grandsons ages almost 9 and 14 and another one who

will be born on Monday or Tuesday. They are all very loving and take great care

of me when I am with them.It really helps to have that in my life.I am so sad

for those of you who haven't got a loving caring spouse or friend  you can rely

on, which is one of the reasons this group is so great. At least one other person

has been through what you are going through.Cat, our president is one of those

people who gets it.She is a great source of wise information for everyone. Please

feel free to call her when you need a real live person to talk to. I hate this

disease, but I have learned that it doesn't help me to think about it 24/7.For me

it is what it is and I just have to cope.I am thankful for the good days and

rest on the bad ones.Right now I am suffering with almost daily headaches, I

have been told it is because my sugar is so unstable,we will see.I have an appt.

this month with my endocrinologist, and I have a lot of questions! I am sorry if

this reads more like a book than a post.If I would post more often this wouldn't

happen!!!!! Try to keep a sense of humor so things don't seem quite so bad.I

love this group and they have laughed with me (sometimes at me.....Marty)lol

cried with me sympathized and boosted my spirits, and for that I am totally in

their dept. Please feel free to write to me any time and I will try to help.

love Elly
