Guest guest
At least they are supposed to revisit it on Tuesday. I think they were all just exhausted from the Health Care Summit on Thursday. They couldn’t wrap their heads around any more health care stuff. Fortunately less than 10% of our patients are on traditional Medicare. We are (as of Friday) officially closed to new Medicare patients that are not on a Medicare Advantage. Steve is sick of Congress stringing docs along every year. He’s convinced that they do it to get $ donated to their campaigns. But with no consult codes being paid, I’m wondering how the specialists feel about donating anything to them (we know most primary care docs can’t afford to donate big $). I’m writing letters this weekend asking them to repeal SGR. This madness has got to stop. Guest guest
bet you 25 cents they repeal itfor a yearThey will repealing it for a yr or 6mo at a time, til heavens know s what happens.Probably take them 10 yrs. for permanent fixI used to worry I do not care anymore They will likely patch it and if they do not well there are only 10 more months in the year to deal with say a 10% pay cut ( 20% or so cut x >50% of my practice, my neighbor hood, my state) then I would do one of those nonpar things PAteitns will disapperar but there will not be enough practices to take them on and all docs will do it and the legislaotrs will get it. Guest guest
here it is http://www.calphys.org/html/dd057.aspit does get confusing with the retro refunds, etc etc.. I am so sick of the bean counters I thought the opt out dates were Jan 1, April 1, July 1 and Oct 1 and that we are required to give out carriers 30 day notice. Guest guest
What A Mess!! So if I do opt out now I have to refund? then re-collect all the way back to January! Without staff that would simply be overwhelming and impossible for me to pull off! So I'm stuck till next year. Thanks for the clarification. Guest guest
I see a ton of emails from earlier today, so perhaps it was noted already. But I was mistaken, Jim Bunning was the one who blocked the extension of unemployment benefits -- then was challenged again and again for hours into the late night but kept his opposition. I wanted to say that so he gets credited for his efforts to single-handedly delay something that will ultimately get passed and keep the Senage from other issues for hours and hours. Guest guest
Oops! Hit send too fast. I meant to say that we are thinking of non-par if it’s not fixed, but we will wait because we want our ARRA money first J As long as they don’t ask for it back like they did the banks! So I guess we will be par with MDC through 2015 (assuming Steve doesn’t give up clinical practice before then because he REALLY likes the consulting gig).
