Guest guest
Frustrated. There just has to be a way to CURE this! Traditional/Western medicine is only putting a " band-aid " on the symptoms but it will never cure what my daughter was (process-of-elimination) diagnosed with adult-onset Stills Disease (RA). Methotrexate was awful (rapid heartbeat). Lisinopril seems to work the best but was not enough when she flared up about 3 weeks ago. Mayo doctor(s) said that he wouldn't really do anything more than what Marshfield doctors are doing.. They put her back on Prednisone but it wasn't enough either to keep her fever and swollen joints down and the added rash all over her body, so they infused her with 120 mg. That helped get her through finals and now she is dropped back down to 60 mg a day of Prednisone but also added a second Lisinopril injection every other day. Her eyes turned yellow after a week of being on the higher dose infusions of Prednisone and sure enough her liver is screwed up! Spleen swollen and billidum? numbers keep going up. One test says she now has Hepatitis A and another says not.. WTH?! Does anyone have any experience or is going in another direction to CURE Stills? I don't know where to start but I am extremely worried about her staying on these meds that are just making it worse!
