Guest guest
Welcome!!! Have you been to a neuro doctor? hatikvah36 wrote: >Hi, all. I just joined this group and wanted to say a quick hello to everyone and let you all know that I am so glad I found you. I have been suffering with symptoms for many years and have just recently been diagnosed, so although I am not new to dealing with the condition, I am still at the beginning of the learning curve when it comes to finding out all the facts. It is nice to know there is a place to go to talk to others who know what it is like and have been down this road before me. I also want to let everyone know that having been symptomatic for 17 years, I have dealt with a lot of the ups and downs and I am a good listener and am happy to hear from anyone who wants to talk or could use a friend who understands how hard it can be. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome :-) Yes, I have had an initial visit with a neurosurgeon who has a lot of experience with Chiari. He is having me go for some more tests and try a few final things to make sure surgery is necessary since I am rather borderline as far as tonsillar herniation... about 5 mm. I go Monday to get a CT-guided occipital nerve root block. I have had a couple before but they were done differently and he says these work better. He wants to make sure my headaches aren't coming from that nerve. I also have to see a urologist about bladder issues because he says I have several signs of tethered cord as well. So after all that I will go back and see where I stand as far as surgery. Cheryl

With the website and the support from the people that are here both that still suffer and the ones that hang around to help others, you will find a wealth of information.
